IT FINALLY HAPPENED! The LetsGoBlues.com Discord Server has officially replaced the LetsGoBlues.com Forums. If you’ve never used Discord before, it may look different at first, but once you understand where the conversations are, it’s pretty simple to use (and better in many ways, maybe not better in a couple ways… but overall this is a good move).
Discord is a free voice, video, and text communication service primarily used for creating online communities. It allows users to connect/chat with friends and communities through servers, which are organized into text and voice channels.
Discord is divided up into Categories and those categories are divided up into channels. The Categories & Channels are located in the left column on the desktop app or web browser. This is where you can connect with other fans.
We have set up our LetsGoBlues.com Discord Server into the following categories in a rather simple manner: Welcome, Text Channels, Voice Channels.
Welcome
In the Welcome Category there is an “Announcements” channel where you can find community announcements, and a “Welcome” channel where you’ll be able to see notifications of new members who have joined, and you can say HI to them and welcome them to the site if you wish.
TEXT CHANNELS
Here you will find a “#general-chat room”, where you can talk about anything in a text/chat room format, one comment after another.
The “letsgoblues-forum“, “around-the-nhl-forum“, and “misc-forum” channels are setup more like a discussion forum with threaded topics.
The “#lgbradio-shows” channel is a feed for the weekly Lets Go Blues Radio Podcast episodes. When new episodes are published, they show up here.
VOICE CHANNELS
Voice channels require speakers if you’d like to listen in on any verbal chatting members are doing. You’ll need a microphone if you’d like to participate in these channels.
“#STL Blues Open Talk” is set up for any Blues hockey talk. You can jump in here before, during, or after a game… or whenever.
“LGBRadio Post Game” is a voice channel set up for when the Lets Go Blues Radio hosts are able to jump in after a game to discuss the game with anyone who wants to jump in and verbally discuss the game.
