Ex-Goaltender Mason Throws Teammates Under Bus
"I'm definitely not going to signal anybody out, but some guys showed up and worked as hard as they could and some guys didn't. When you're in a desperate situation like we are, we need everybody to come and compete, and we didn't have that."
So you got that going for you. Which is nice.
Hopefully this loser enjoys the rest of the season from the bench, starting Saturday.

Well, we know a couple of things....He was talking about #5 and #22 last night. Probably more, but those two no doubt.
He was not talking about Weaver, Polak, Steen, Backes (who played with about as much spirit as I've seen out of him all year), or TJ.
But above all, I believe he was talking about Jackman (who was a human pylon last night), and I can't argue with that. However, you don't do that in the media.

Mason was talking about effort. Jackman put in the effort, just not the skill. Like the 2nd period goal....Jackman made an effort to not cover the 2nd man coming in and instead fumbled with the puck behind EJ.DaDitka wrote:Well, we know a couple of things....He was talking about #5 and #22 last night. A killer goal that if Mason was an elite goaltender would have bailed his team out.
Boyes is downright terrible.

Didn't Legace throw the team under the bus just before he was sent packing?

I think what Mason is sayinig here is that he wants Conklin to play the rest of the season and the Blues to waive him.

He's pissed because the organization allows people to bad mouth him, but as they said in the post last week, don't even think of criticizing Jackman or Brewer or (much like the Cardinals) they will clamp down on your access.
It's not that Mason doesn't suck, he's just missed that the team defends heartless hacks like Jackman, and not guys who try but simply aren't good enough like him.

I was just making light of the Post-Disgrace's typo (or maybe Mason actually said “signal out”).DaDitka wrote:joosforjihad wrote:Who is he to signal anybody out?

In regards to his point, this team has been heartless all season long after going ahead by a couple of goals.

So that's two goalies now who have gone to the media to complain about (presumably) the defense. At some point you have to think they have a point. It must be pretty bad when two consecutive goalies do the unthinkable and complain to the media.

Or he could be talking (presumably) about the offense and the lack of scoring. I mean the PK is tied with Buffalo for #1. The PP is ranked 20th.Ruutu15 wrote:So that's two goalies now who have gone to the media to complain about (presumably) the defense. At some point you have to think they have a point. Two guys...Jackman and Brewer. They can easily be replaced...but I have no idea why they haven't. Both are so consistently inconsistent it makes me sick.Ruutu15 wrote:So that's two goalies now who have gone to the media to complain about (presumably) the defense. And why oh why Brewer is the captain of this team, I'll never understand.
This year, combined, they are making $9 million. That's a disgrace. Management should be embarrassed. We could sign a word class defenseman for that money, but instead we have two average guys who make costly mistakes nearly every game.
And to make everyone more sick... they are both on the books next year for a total of $8.5 million.
Davidson and Co. need to grow a pair and trade at least one them for ANYTHING this offseason...and if nobody will take them, they need to buy them out and release them.
This team isn't going anywhere with both of these guys on the roster.

What the hell does Sanford have to do with this?
Or do you have nothing to say, but had to get something in front of you?

It was a jab at JR, I don't really care who Mason was talking about. There are a number of guys not giving 100%, if Jackman is giving 100% then he is far worse then I expected.
