This series feels a lot like the LA series 4 years ago. We have for most of this series looked like we did not belong on the ice with the Sharks. A pathetic effort.

So frustrating to see these late bursts of urgency. WTF was that effort in 80% of the series?

Blues showed up for about 10 minutes in total tonight. Tarasenko showed up for 2 minutes in the series. Blues played maybe 4 or 5 good periods in the series.

Honestly not sure why I get disappointed when they do what I expect from them.

Prediction for the offseason: no changes except those forced by the Cap cause "we proved we're close."

Yeah, I wasn't buying what they were selling either. I don't think the team will be that different next year and I think our only real option is a culture change.

I also expect Hitch to win the Cup with whatever team he signs with next.

Absolute failure as a top D pairing. Doesn't he have a NTC though?

And stunning he's never once scored a goal in the playoffs. I mean how does one not at least bounce off his ass at some point?

I'd trade Shatty in a heartbeat. Horrible defensively. Absolutely horrible. Also the master of taking dumb penalties. Still got good trade value.

That being said, I'm proud of how this team played all year. Yes, they were inferior in this series, but they still beat CHI and DAL which are great teams. Heartbreaking loss tonight. I thought we all had a feeling this would end tonight though. When we gave up a 3-2 lead within just minutes and lost game 5, I kinda knew this wasn't going to go our way. Winning game 5 would've maybe given the team the confidence and cushion to be able to come away with at least one more win. But those two goals late in the second and early in the third were backbreaking and it decided this series.

It'll be a flipping bummer if they win the Cup this year because it could then be argued, on a technicality, that the Blues are officially the last Expansion Six club without a Cup, not just the last of the actual five teams that survived without one.

I'm afraid that after tonight, we'll remain Cupless.

It'll be a flipping bummer if they win the Cup this year because it could then be argued, on a technicality, that the Blues are officially the last Expansion Six club without a Cup, not just the last of the actual five teams that survived without one.

Well said. To come out of a division with Chicago, Dallas and Nashville, it is tough to "expect" to get through. By the time you get to the Western Conference Finals to face whatever the Pacific offers, you are beat up.

It is a very tough day today ... but we have a ton to look forward to. A young superstar, a bunch of really good rookies rising. Elliott given a chance in the playoffs (and while in this series he struggled, he exceeded overall).

I am not as much a Hitch hater as some. I do feel like we need a little more even puck-handling across all the lines. Turnovers kill us often. So, one or two moves and we are right back in the mix.

Being in the mix matters.
