I was able to tell that play was offsides from my couch the moment it happened, but somehow the linesman who was right there couldn't. I don;t know when it happened, or if it was more of a gradual thing, but the quality of officiating now vs 15 years ago is an absolute joke.

Shaw was pissed because Steen cup checked him off the faceoff.
I'm not sure the cup check was on purpose or not...looked like Steen wanted to get a stick on him, or stick lift him, but yeah...that's why he was pissed...well, that and he seemed to lose his cool with 2 minutes to go as well when he showed absolutely no class on his interference penalty when he, twice, flipped off the refs with both hands yelling "F U!", "F U!" So he was already incensed.
How he didn't get an unsportsmanlike for that, I have no idea. He absolutely should have. It's borderline suspension worthy as it should have been a game misconduct.

I really didn't like the fact we were shorthanded after the scrum where Crawford came out and went after Fabbri. But whatever. They've been fighting the officiating all series.

We did catch a break with the officiating though when they were the benefit of a quick whistle before the Hawks put it in the net. That was a break...but to be fair, we had that one coming. I think we're owed a couple more of those.

And let's practice staying onside. Jesus.

Those darn Blackhawks just can't seem to ever remember what they say on the ice.

He wasn't happy with the call? It was a pretty blatant interference...easy call if you ask me. He gave Bouwmeester a really good shot away from the puck...put him right into the net. It was pretty stupid actually. No need for that. It's only going to hurt your team. I'm guessing he was upset from right before that when he was tied up with with Bouwmeester at the side of the net, their arms were locked like they were going to prom. And he started screaming at the official after that as well. I guess he felt like he was held. It looked like they were holding each other...but whatever. I'm actually shocked that we weren't penalized for holding on that based on the way the calls had been going this series.
