We talked about this a bit on the podcast the other night.
Who do you want to see the Blues play in Rd. 1? It could be a number of different teams right now.

Round 1, Minnesota. The revenge factor is fresh in their minds as a couple of unfortunate games against them have put a damper on otherwise basically good play. Seeing as they're not a choice, I'll refrain from voting.

Blackhawks. God I want to beat them so bad it makes my teeth hurt. I was there for the sweep in '93 and if you haven't seen a 'hawks fan cry . . . well, you haven't lived. Plus if we end up winning it all I don't wanna listen to any of their whiny, band-wagonesque teenage fanclub (SWIDT) whining about how the Blues didn't deserve a Cup because they didn't have to play the Blackhawks. Plus payback for last year . . . and if the boys can exorcise that particular demon I don't see anyone else stopping them.

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't see the part about "first round" until after I voted. I'll take Winnipeg.

I voted for LA.

The easy answer is that I don't really care. There are no easy matchups. But, it would be so satisfying to beat LA and then Chicago in the first two rounds. It also might be good for them to get over that hump.

No matter who they draw, if they go up 2-0 in the series, I'll be very nervous about the following 4 games. I can't stomach another meltdown like that.

Pretty sure a matchup against Nashville will not happen in the first round, so I went for that :D

But really, it'd be great to put them back in their places in the first round, and then get all worked up and savagely destroy CHI in the second. Well, I'm happy if it's the other way around and we take out the Hawks in the 1st as well

Head: Calgary (Wild/Jets to a much lesser degree.)

Heart: LA (Though they'll probably finish 3rd in the Pacific with such an easy schedule, they got my vote anyway.)

If I could pick, it would be Calgary, as the likely path of least resistance. I understand the desire for vengeance on the Hawks and Kings, but damn it, I want a Cup. I want it more than revenge.

I don't care who they play in the 1st round.

If I can interpret the question to who would I be more satisfied beating in the 1st round, then it would be Blackhawks then Kings.... Then maybe Vancouver, Nashville, Minnesota, Calgary and Jets...

I'm not going to feel any more comfortable about facing any team over the other... History has taught me that the Blues can suck it up against anyone...

Vancouver for me but this really drives home that there aren't any cupcakes in the West. Would really like to avoid LA, and also MIN with their ridiculously hot goalie. Either way, want to see CHI eliminated before Kane returns.

Kevin Wheeler of 1120 KMOX in St. Louis was on the air this afternoon and said he doesn't think it matters who the Blues play in the 1st round...they're winning.

That was just nice to hear, especially after a lot of Blues fans, because of past playoff disappointments, seem to be getting negative and predicting doom and gloom...even though the team is playing well and may even finish 1st in the West.

I'm not going to lie...I really like the way the team is rounding into form with the playoffs just around the corner. And I also really like the fact that, barring any injuries in the final 8 games...we'll be 100% healthy...and Hitch is trying to rotate guys as healthy scratches who may need an extra day or two off to try to keep them more fresh for the playoffs.

I am strangely very confident with this team right now. Maybe I'm just setting myself up for disappointment again, but I don't care...it's a good feeling.

I'd prefer to face Washington. I think they'd be a relatively easy opponent in the SC finals
