Since Payne took over the Blues are 7-3-2 at home, if I'm correct.

Simple as chipping it in along the boards, picked it up and he threw it towards the net. It went off a defenseman's skate and in.kodos wrote:Can someone explain how Steen scored in 8 seconds?? I'm away from a TV.

That being said, the Blues would be up 2 right now if Kariya could shoot.

Re: GDT: Avalanche @ Blues, 7 pm, FS-MW, KMOX
At least we'll be able to use the last thirteen games to evaluate the roster, because this season's over.
First, are we trying to win next year? If not, Payne stays on for a cheap two-year contract. If so, forget it.
Second, why in the world should players like Kariya and Walt get minute one for the rest of the year? They aren't going to be back next year. Let them ride out their last days in the penalty box and call someone up.
Third, how can we supposedly have so many goaltending prospects who all suck? At some point, shouldn't we stop evaluating players and start evaluating the guys who evaluate the players?
Fourth, if you aren't going to make the playoffs and you weren't a seller at the trade deadline, you have failed at your job. Explain why, gentlemen.
Stick a fork in the 2009-2010 Blues. They're done.

They have already taken Walt's A away, now take his pride and bench his ass and call up Eller or someone else who might make the team next season.Nyghtewynd wrote:At least we'll be able to use the last thirteen games to evaluate the roster, because this season's over.

I don't even think the 05-06 Blues were not trying to.Nyghtewynd wrote:At least we'll be able to use the last thirteen games to evaluate the roster, because this season's over.
First, are we trying to win next year?
Don't be so certain. Walt I could definitely see coming back for another year. Kariya, who the hell knows, he may come out of nowhere with an offer that's realistic now that he (should) realizes he's a shadow of his former self.Second, why in the world should players like Kariya and Walt get minute one for the rest of the year? They aren't going to be back next year. Let them ride out their last days in the penalty box and call someone up.
Kariya- I'd agree he should go either way, Walt... meh. Too many heartstrings for the guy and he score with his face.
As I'm sure you noticed, there actually HAS been a shuffling of goaltending consultant's. I think it's the best kept secret on the Blues- we are having one hell of a time developing goaltenders. I agree with you whole heartedly. Something needs to be done besides shuffling guys around, wasting high picks that don't pan out, etc. I know a drastically higher percentage of goalies never see the NHL proportionately to the other positions but its been an epic fail for as far as I can remember. The last goaltenders playing regularly who were home-grown were Cash and Stanford that I can remember.Third, how can we supposedly have so many goaltending prospects who all suck? At some point, shouldn't we stop evaluating players and start evaluating the guys who evaluate the players?
Obviously this wasn't the way it was "supposed" to pan out. I'm still kind of shocked nobody put an offer out there for Kariya- Cup Finals experience and who knows, maybe a trade would put a jolt in him. I can see it from the other point of view too and it was just like last season which was to just keep the status quo and shoot for the playoffs. Didn't work out. Last year it did. It's not a unique thing with teams on the margins so I wouldn't look too much into it.Fourth, if you aren't going to make the playoffs and you weren't a seller at the trade deadline, you have failed at your job. Explain why, gentlemen.
