Fallon is a quality goalie prospect. The Hawks were pretty high on this guy, but he's backing up Crawford in Rockford and makes $800,000 in his first season. Had to clear space in order to tender Niemi an RFA sheet. Sucks to lose him in the division, but you guys will probably like him.

I guess this takes us out of the running for Cory Schneider? Also seems to confirm the fact that Blues brass isn't very high on giving Bishop another shot up here.

All I gotta say is see ya Bishop. That guy has not been strong the past year and he looks like he is going to lose his job to Fallon.

Really? Who?
Mason is a FA, Bishop has gone the way of Cody the Goalie, Allen is a long way away and this organization has been wrong about every goalie prospect since........Cujo.
So I'd say we have a decent backup on a possible prospect in 3 or more years. Other than that, we've got nothing heading into next year.

Don't rule that out yet...Today's Peoria Journal Star speculates that the Blues in fact may take a stab at Schneider. Fallon will challenge Bishop. I suspect Fallon will log more ice as we head into final stretch. The Blues have got to rank last in goalie development. Everyone in the central division has a goalie that came through the AHL and is making a impact for their team.

Remember Toivie was written off before a surprising return this year, so I guess this is better than nothing.

NHL netminders are like NFL quarterbacks.
Until you have one, you keep trying to get one (duh), no matter the logjam. There is no such thing as too many goalie prospects until you finally have a #1 netminder. Just keep loading up goalie prospects until one sticks.

It could always be worse, I could be a Cubs fan. (But please, if you could spare me the parallels between the respective organizations, I'd really appreciate it).
