Anyone Going To Sweden???
I know the Blues were selling packages on their website to see the Blues play in Sweden. I am not going, just wonder if anyone here is ballin' enough to fork out the money for the trip.
*I tend to only post on this site when I'm intoxicated.

Poor college student who eats microwave pizzas for dinner every night = not going to Sweden.

Re: Anyone Going To Sweden???
I would have loved to, but with having to fly from NY to St. Louis just to go back to Sweden would be nuts + expensive, and I'd need to take time off from work which would be frowned upon unless it was some professional development work. That plus my wife would undoubtedly not be pleased if I jetted off to Sweden to go watch hockey.

As much as I love the Blues, I wouldn't make this trip even if I had the money. It's FAR. Plus, you'd be all screwed up with jet lag that you would fall asleep during the game. It's not terribly far from me at the moment, but still... not going. Can see the Blues in St. Louis.

Just out of curiousity, how many tramps would I have to sell to get enough money to attend something like this?

Re: Anyone Going To Sweden???
I actually looked into this but the airfares were deceiving. Round trips were ~600 each and I didn't think that was bad at all. Hotel we were looking at around 200/night. I figured if I could go for 2500 + cost of tickets I'd do it. The airfares were minus taxes, fuel surcharges, etc. That added another 700ish to each ticket and pretty much blew any chance I thought I had of going.
Re: Anyone Going To Sweden???
I have been planning this trip since they announced. It being played. Went on the Globe web site and bought tickets from the Swedish Ticketmaster the day they went on sale. It is a little close but American Airlines has a 6 month payment no interest plan. SAS has tickets for 249.00 ,but another 249 of taxes and fees. Just a little less than 600.00 round trip. Hotels are not cheap. Thank God I travel a lot and got a free room at the Sheraton. Doing a side trip to Copenhagen and doing bed and breakfast there. Could probably do the same in Stockholm. Heck, you only live once. This is more than a Hockey game. It is a life experience. 28 days and a wake up. I am ready to go.

One day when I hit the lottery, I'll finalize plans for a Scandinavian tour. But until I get to that lifetime, I'm going to just have to watch the games on atdhe if they're allowed to show them this season.
