Wow, this is pretty shocking. Ex Cardinal Curt Ford was attacked at a gas station in Fenton. He was punched, called a n*gger, and told to go back to Ferguson. Now he says he could leave St.Louis.

It was the lead story on Fox2 news last night!

Racism sucks. And it's not just white on black racism. It's black on white racism as well, maybe even more so in Ferguson right now.

The FBI study actually said more whites were pulled over in Ferguson than blacks based on those without a warrant. If you include warrants then more blacks but people forget that Ferguson is surrounded by majority black municipalities like Dellwood and Pine Lawn. Guess what? Dellwood and Pine Lawn have mostly black city councils and mostly black police along with black mayors yet they STILL pull over a lot of blacks!

The big mistake here was the protesters picking Mike Brown as a role model. He was just a street thug who committed strongarm robbery by robbing cigarillos and then committed another felony by assaulting a cop! If Brown lived he'd be looking at 15 years in prison! Like the liberal NY Times said he's NO angel! Trayvon Martin and Eric Garner were saints compared to this guy!

The most important thing in the DOJ report, to me anyway, was that it said there was a "pattern of systemic discrimination in Ferguson." The emails that cost people their jobs were bad, but the systemic discrimination finding validates the protesters' cause to me. I agree that Mike Brown may not have been the best catalyst, but I think the DOJ reports validate the protesters' message.

It's easy to poke holes in various elements of the protests (the violence, some of the idiots protesting, Mike Brown being the cause), but I don't think those things should drown out the rest of the message.

Yeah, I agree there were problems in Ferguson but that's hardly unique to St.Louis. What about 90% black areas in North County like Dellwood and Pine Lawn where black cops harass and pull over other blacks? So it's ok for a black cop to give black people tickets but a white cop can't give black people tickets??

Racism isn't going anywhere anytime soon in such a large and diverse country. I'm not sure what's a bigger detriment to the long term success of America from this point forward: the fact that we're so freaking large that different geographical regions have zero in common with each other apart from the fact that we all use the same money or that there's such a broad diversity all congregating in the same place that human nature to fear and loathe the unknown takes over. If I'm not mistaken, Queens County is the most diverse county in America and we don't have damn near the same levels of racism you find in places like Ferguson or wherever. Perhaps we're just used to integration, I don't know. But until society figures it out, it'll just get a lot worse before it gets better.

Damn! I just saw that video on Fox2 news of 3 black guys beating on an older white guy just because he didn't want to tall about Ferguson. It's awful. They have pretty clear images of the 3 scumbags so they should catch them soon!

When you have a Hatfield/McCoy situation, it's pretty hard to point fingers and say these people or those people are wrong, especially if you want a permanent solution. What we're seeing is the effect of a good few decades of generational poverty and redlining coupled with a poor educational system, nonexistant social welfare and cutting of programs. Those in poverty or living in bad conditions have it far worse than people think. Get a job? Desire alone doesn't work when you grew up in a system that passed you through school without being able to write, think critically or teaching one how to act socially. On top of that, When there's a problem, we throw people into jail and leave them there to get out and we end up doing the same thing over and over again. There's no prevention, no intervention and everyone seems to have this idea in their head that people are as smart, literate and critical thinking as them and I hate to disappoint most but that simply is so not the case, even among those who actually CAN read and managed to graduate high school. Ours is a problem that will either take generations to do or will be the single factor that destroys us. Take heed.

The unfortunate reality is there will always be some people who don't succeed and are mired in poverty. You can't force people to get a job or learn a skill so the only partial solution is more of a socialist one that Europe uses. Entitlement programs.

I don't like it either and it's nowhere near a perfect solution but the alternative is having a lot of Mike Brown type situations.

The Scandanavian model is super in a smaller, generally homogenous country. Those people enjoy a very high standard of living and are very happy people, and I envy that but it wouldn't work in America unless we broke into 50 separate countries and segregated everyone. This is something that obviously can't and won't happen.
