I don't like either team, but let's go not-Patriots!!! I hope the Patriots lose the same way GB did, but worse. I want to see some Astroesque celebrating from the Patriots before Pujols tells Lidge what's up.

The Pro Bowl is tonight. Does anyone care anymore??

Is that most ignored event of the major sports? Of course the NHL all star weekend has become kind of a joke too.

I hate the Patriots even more for making me root for the Seahawks.

I couldn't have picked two teams that I hate more to play in the Superbowl.

Chargers and Raiders threatening to move to LA together. I haven't read more than a few headlines, but the combination of this, the stadium proposal, the unlikeliness that the NFL does Kroenke many favors in lieu of other owners, have me thinking odds are over 50% that the Rams stay in STL.

They said the other day that Kroenke has said he has the votes needed from the owners to move the team.
I'm not sure how Kroenke can have his votes to move the team and the Chargers' owner can have his votes to block the move...both have now said they have the votes. Someone is lying.

The other thing is that the stadium situation in STL is moving along swiftly. I don't understand how the NFL can abandon a market that is willing to build them a stadium. There's no way that can happen. There's a lot of moving parts but if they break ground on the STL stadium, which is seems like they're heading straight towards (and at a rapid pace), I just can't see how the NFL can screw over a city like that.

That said, Kroenke could still move of course. There's also the possibility he buys the Raiders from Davis, moves them to LA, and sells the Rams to someone who will keep them here.

It's possible that they both are lying. Obviously if a vote happened, one would have the votes and not the other. But, wouldn't shock me if both of them just made it up to sound like they have more support than they actually do.

I like that last option best. Rams stay here and the one part of them that I hate goes away.

That would be ideal, I agree.

LOL..the biggest problem with the stadium proposal is Kranky doesn't even TALK to local officials much less pitch in a quarter of a BILLION dollars which MUST be done for the stadium to go through!

He has to talk with local officials, otherwise he hasn't exhausted all efforts to remain in St. Louis, which is required by the NFL.
So if the NFL holds true to that rule, Kroenke is just being an arrogant dick, thinking he can move the team without even giving the impression he wants to stay here.
He's not even faking it, which is what royally pisses me off.

Yup. They have an LA stadium proposal as well now.
Things just got even more interesting.

But they also said it's unlikely arch rivals like the Chargers and Raiders would share a stadium AND Kranky is a lot further along in getting his stadium done in the LA area.

Most all experts agree that billionaires get what they want and that eventually Kranky will be able to move his team to LA if he wants to.

STL is moving along with building their stadium too. How can the NFL justify leaving a market that is willing to build 2 stadiums for them 25 years apart? You are leaving out so many variables.

The Fast Lane let Goodell have it a bit yesterday, and they have a good point. Next season there will be 3 cities (roughly 10% of the league) that feel like they have a lame duck team, and their owners are playing politics publicly. Steve Savard put it best. Billionaires fighting with each other publicly over who gets to desert their city is very "unbecoming" (Savard's word, not mine, but it's perfect). And Goodell needs to get out in front of it.

You're forgetting one thing. All officials here in the Show Me state have said they will NOT break ground on this stadium UNLESS they get assurances that we have an NFL team. Kroenke is certainly not giving them that and the NFL even said Kroenke could still move the team even if a new stadium is built!

That's why many feel the stadium won't be built. Plus does this mean every 15 to 20 years we have to keep building new stadiums?? NO WAY in hell that's happening! Plus there is still the issue of a public vote which will NOT pass.

Who is "they"?
The Chargers and Raiders have already said that they would indeed share the stadium.
JesusNEVERexisted wrote:Most all experts agree that billionaires get what they want and that eventually Kranky will be able to move his team to LA if he wants to.
That is going by what has happened in the past. The rules for moving a team are vastly different now, and Kroenke isn't playing by them. If Kroenke doesn't exhaust all efforts keep the team in St. Louis (which he hasn't even come close to doing yet), then technically he can't move the team.
