Fantasy Football--How did everyone finish?

Post by glen a richter »

I went into week 16 situated for the 1st place game but ended up down 38 points going into MNF. Frank Gore, Tony Gonzalez and SF defense left to play. Totally blew it by not picking up Andy Dalton when I had the chance. Once Aaron Rodgers went down my season got real rocky. So I just checked fully expecting to have lost this week by a good 20 points or so. I didn't catch the end of the game last night so evidently Gore and Gonzalez both scored TD's and I guess maybe SF defense had a few sacks down the end or an INT or two because somehow I actually won the damn thing by a point and a half.

And Yahoo predicted me to finish middle of the pack 7-7. Suck it, yahoo!

I'm in two leagues and I've been in each one for 4-5 years. I've won each league the last two years. In the league for money, I ended up finishing in 8th in the regular season, only to lose in the 'consolation' round of the playoffs (because I didn't pay attention to it) and finished 10th in a 10 team league.

In my other league, I started 6-1, ended the season at 7-6 w/ the 3 seed (out of an 8 team league). Jamal Charles' 50 point game propelled me to the title game where I took on the #1 overall seed that was 11-2. And I beat him by 40 points to win my 3rd straight title. We have a trophy in that league and we held our draft at Buffalo Wild Wings, so I get some BWW money as well as a banner from there and I keep the trophy for a 3rd straight year.

I did 2 teams this year. 1 is a 12 team keeper league that I inherited last year. I had the 1 seed headed into the playoffs and won both of my playoff matchups to win the league. Best fantasy team I've ever had I think. I had the biggest blowout 6 of the 13 weeks in the regular season. Got kinda lucky with Josh Gordon having a sick year and Randall Cobb/Steven Jackson the only notable injuries.

The other (the only money league unfortunately), I tied for 5th 3 ways (in a 10 team league) and was the odd man out of the playoffs. Frustrating because I had a dumb amount of injuries this year. Gronkowski played like 4 weeks or something, Ray Rice, Steven Jackson and Ahmad Bradshaw all went down at the same time (Rice was pretty short though). Randall Cobb. RG3. Oh well, next year.
