I just got home from the game a few minutes ago. Craziness! Might be the best game I have ever attended. 13 inning NLCS game. Beltran (after calling off Jay in CF) guns Ellis at home in between his 2RBI 2B and GW RBI "single" (quotes cuz that was a double if it's not a walk off). That. Game. Was. Nuts. So huge we won.

I've watched the replay of the Beltran to Molina throw/tag on Ellis and I'm still not sure it was a tag. But hey, I'll take it! Seriously, VIVA LA BELTRAN! Dude is an amazing playoff player. I was really hoping we took Game 1 with Kershaw up next. Great, great win.

There was an old story about a guy who was attending a Yankees game and, later on, he told authorities that he had a vision of the devil placing a spike in Don Mattingly's bat which is why he never won a world series. If for no other reason than to dispel the nonsense that was this lunatics rantings, I want LA to come back and win and take the world series.

Up 2-0 after facing Kershaw and Greinke and not using Waino? If you told me that before the series started, I would have liked our chances. Now let's finish it off.

One game, 27 outs, 9 innings (maybe), away from the World Series.

You've probably seen this by now, but the stat is that the last two times the Cardinals held a 3-1 lead in the NLCS, in '96 and '12, they didn't advance. That's well known. But in those 6 games that they lost, they were outscored 52-2. That's mind boggling.

And I'll give it to Lynn. I've been slinging crap at him this entire posteseason, and yet he's 2-0 in the NLCS. So kudos, Mr. Lynn.

56-2? Ouch. No way we blow back-to-back-to-back 3-1 NLCS leads, right?

Would be nice to finish it of today. Sets rotation up nicely for WS with Wacha and Waino in games 1-2.

I'd be happy with a blow-out game this afternoon. The Cardinals winning that blowout game that is...

Welp...onto game 6. I'm not nervous yet. Kershaw is tough but we can beat him. But if we lose Game 6, I think we lose the series.

I still like our chances. Wacha and Waino this postseason have a combined 37IP and 5ER. I don't think they lose back to back at home. If we didn't have Waino for game 7, I would be worried about losing game 6. But, if momentum is really only as good as your next SP, I don't think the Dodgers will have too much headed into game 7 (if they beat us Friday).

Stoked for tonight's game, but don't really know what to expect. Wacha has been great, but can he be great against the Dodgers twice in a row? We've hit Kershaw very well, but at some point we have to regress to the mean, right? Regardless, I can't wait for first pitch.

I keep waiting for Wacha to not have his best stuff. I hope it's not tonight. But I feel good. I think tonight's the night. If we're trailing big midway through the game, I'm already going to be nervous for tomorrow. Just too many 3-1 leads blown in the past.

But our bats are finally coming around. I think it's our turn to pop some dingers and score a ton of runs.

Image is too big to upload, so I'll just link to it. This is pretty damn awesome, and the Eckstein part is a great touch.

Haha..I saw that last night. That's genius. I love Parks and Rec...they have the best sports cameos/references.

Absolutely. I binge-watched the entire series on Netflix/Hulu this summer, but didn't realize it was back on until my roommate told me last night. Gotta catch back up and set that to DVR. Ron Swanson is one of the best characters on TV right now.

Without a doubt. And Parks and Rec is the #1 example of why networks need to give comedies time to gel. Season 1 was pretty uneven but somewhere in Season 2, everything clicked and it's been fantastic ever since. I don't think I've ever laughed at one character as much as Ron Swanson on any other show.

I really wasn't sure what to expect from tonight's game, but Wacha is a (Franking) badass. He has ice in his veins. He beat Kershaw twice in the NLCS. That's incredible.

YESSSSSS! YESSSSSSSSS! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

I talked a big game at work yesterday about how last night was going to be our night. But I'm not sure I actually believed it. I think it was more a situation where I was trying to calm my nerves. But holy crap, Wacha rose to the big stage.

And what I find more impressive, is that in our 4 World Series appearances since 2004, we've had 4 different closers for each run. I don't know why I find that so...interesting...but I do. I guess it just shows how we reload and go again.

Just read this quote from Beltran and honestly, I can't think of a more perfect quote for what the World Series means to a player.

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/mlb--the-c ... 24102.html
"I thought about my family, my dad, my mom, my wife and my kids, all the people that have been around me and know how much I wanted to get to this point," Beltran said. "My country. My hometown. So it's a great feeling to be able to come through and to be able to have this opportunity."
