Scrabble has had a long, hard fall since his celebrated postseason of 2011.

For real. I remember people talking about him being the reason we won the Rasmus trade because he could be a starter. I thought he would be better this year with another lefty in the pen to lean on. But, couldn't have been more wrong.

Our offense might be the most frustrating in the league. It's so explosive, but then it gets so incredibly quiet at times.

And it's been this way for years it seems. Obviously, we had the best offense in the league in 2011, but it wasn't without it's rough patches. Boom or bust it seems.

Cards take 2 of 3 from Reds for second time this year. It's a long season and very early, but that's a really good (and important) start against them.

As frustrating as the up's and down's have been, the Blues are following the TLR blueprint to a T. They're winning series and as La Russa always said, if you win your series, chances are you'll have a shot at the playoffs come the end of the season.
