Series Thread: Cards @ Diamondbacks (4/1-4/3)

Game 1: Monday @ 9 PM on ESPN2/FSMW. Waino vs. Kennedy

Game 2: Tuesday @ 8:40 PM on FSMW. Garcia vs. Cahill

Game 3: Wednesday @ 8:40 PM on FSMW. Lynn vs. McCarthy.

If these don't get much attention, I may just go with threads for each month. We'll see how it plays out. I know there are usually only a few of us that frequent this part of the board.

Love having a Cards game on after the Blues game.

The only drawback is that I have a poker tournament tonight and will only be viewing causally for (hopefully) about three hours (7:30 - 10:30).

I know they talked about it this winter, but seeing the Cardinals wear the red caps with the gray road uni's is a bit weird.

First game was a bit of a bust. And I gotta say (stolen from Matt Sebek of JoeSportsFan on Twitter): can't the MLB schedule West Coast Opening Day games for the afternoon/early evening? Just for one day? That's not so much to ask for is it?

Last night sure sucked. But, it's a long season I guess.

Only thing that really concerns me about yesterday is that all of the damage to Waino happened after the liner off his shoulder. Hopefully that doesn't turn into anything big.

I think his shoulder will be fine. What should be worry some is the poor fielding, base running mistakes, and free swinging early in counts.

Nice to see Jaime with a solid road outing. We really need him to have a good year.

Kozma's shot was a bomb to dead center. Good to see Holliday and Jay smack a few out too.

16 innings. Shit. I'm glad I went to bed in the 7th inning.

haha, me too. It was 8-7 when I went to bed. I would have been pissed if I stayed up to see us blow it in the 16th.

We blow four leads, quit hitting, strike out 12 times and then everyone wants to hang the loss on Boggs.

Typical insane Cardinals fan. A failure can ALWAYS be pinned on one person. It's never a combination of things. NEVER.

I thought Miller was adequate today. Had some control issues for sure, which I suspect will be an ongoing issue for him. But, he was generally effective in the few innings I saw. I'm really looking forward to watching him develop this year.

Molina will guide Miller. And Miller knows to follow.

Yeah, there isn't a catcher in baseball (maybe history) that I would rather have with all of our young power arms coming up.
