What is the deal with the Memphis Redbirds' Autozone Park? Look at that picture, and just compare it with Busch Stadium. It seems rather small, almost like a college baseball park. How does this not get sold out? Look at the seat difference, Autozone park seems to have mostly bottom-level seats while Busch Stadium not only has higher level seats, but more seats around the building. Autozone park has their seats set in an "L" shape, with practically the entire west wing of the building consisting of shrubs and decoration. Busch Stadium has seats generally 360 around the whole park.

So, it's obvious that the Cardinals are a bigger baseball market - but still? This seems like a huge difference between the two. How do the Redbirds stay in Memphis?

It all goes back to the slumping economy.

I live next door to a Minor league stadium .....seriously, we share a property line...and they have seen their average attendance drop from just over 3,100 a game to under 1,800 over the last 5 years despite 5 winning seasons, a championship, reduced ticket prices and concessions that have been cut in half (cost),

The other ting that is killing all types of baseball is too many dates....It's easy for people to talk themselves out of going on a certain night because they have something else to do or they are too tired, or it's too hot...because there are so many other opportunities to go. Then before you know it...there are two games left in the season and you've only been to one.
