Lapierre to play in Sweden
It seems as Lappy has signed a deal to play for Swedish MoDo this season. Seems a bit strange to me, I wasn't particularly high on him when he was with the Blues, but surely he still holds his own on the NHL-level. Surprised that no team has picked him up yet.

I'm sure he had offers...but the money simply might have been better in Sweden.

MoDo, a club with a legacy of great players: Hedberg, Naslund, Forsberg and...Max Lapierre...

And don't forget the Sedins. I'm just having trouble seeing the money being better in Sweden than the NHL, but that might of course be the case here.
Re: Lapierre to play in Sweden
Lappy probably got some interest at $1 million from a bottom feeder NHL team. But, at this point in his career, he might rather play a more prominent role on a top contender in Sweden, and get to "see a bit of The World". His career is almost over. So, this year and the next couple might be his only chance to do that. He may be getting similar money to his NHL offers, and even if it's 1 or 2 $100,000 less, that wouldn't be enough to change his reason for doing this. Living and working in another country is much, much nicer than just visiting it as a tourist. There are other motivations for doing things other than just monetary gain (especially for people who have earned in the millions of Dollars per year).
