Whew! - no disrespect to the Blues but I really didn't want the Hawks to sign Jackman and I got worried when it was stated in Chicago media that the Hawks were pursuing him. Glad to see he signed with the Preds.

Jackman sucked a fat one the last 1-2 seasons. He's lost a step on an ever-faster NHL and I don't see him getting any faster. Preds may regret that signing and I don't begrudge you in the slightest for hoping the Hawks passed on him. I wouldn't re-sign him for $500k. But that's me.

No disrespect taken. For his production, he's not worth more than $1M-ish per year. Most Blues fans didn't want him re-signed either, despite generally warm feelings toward him.

Yep. Still don't understand that trade. He had a concussion when acquired. Didn't make sense even as a rental. He didn't perform better than what the Blues already had.

Maybe not. Maybe that was the best money/term combo on the table. We'll never know. I don't think the rivalry with the Preds is all that brutal anyway. I think we hate the Hawks way more than anything the Preds have done to us.
