Western Conf. Finals: Chicago Blackhawks v. Anaheim Ducks

Post by WaukeeBlues »

Quack........ Quack... Quack.. Quack Quack Quack Quack!!!!

GOOOOOOO DUCKS!!!

This series is going to be a pleasure to watch, regardless of who wins.

Ducks in 7
NHL.com wrote:The Chicago Blackhawks are back in the Western Conference Final for the fifth time in seven seasons. The Anaheim Ducks have reached the third round for the first time since winning the Stanley Cup in 2007.

The Ducks needed nine games to get by the Winnipeg Jets in the first round and the Calgary Flames in the second; the Blackhawks needed 10, six games to defeat the Nashville Predators in the first round and a sweep of the Minnesota Wild in the second.

They are led by their top-line center and captain, Ryan Getzlaf of the Ducks and Jonathan Toews of the Blackhawks. Each can produce on offense but is more comfortable being a versatile leader who can excel in all phases of the game.

Ducks forward Corey Perry leads the Stanley Cup Playoffs with 15 points; Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane is second with 13.

Each team also has versatile defensemen who excel in transitioning the puck and goaltenders who have shown flashes of brilliance.

The Blackhawks won two of three games against the Ducks in the regular season.

"We have good feelings against them, but you don't want to fall into getting complacent at all or you feel like because things have gone well that they'll automatically go well [again]," Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford said Monday. "We'll have to battle hard and remember what it felt like in the last series to battle hard and be successful because of that and do the same thing."

I'll jump on the Anaheim bandwagon, not because of any affection for the Ducks, but because I love to see the Hawks lose.

And it would be nice to see someone other than Chicago and LA in the Cup Final.

I take issue with the complete success of any team that's been around less time than the Blues. The only reason(s) I'm on the Lightning bandwagon is because of Bishop and my burning hatred for the Rangers.

It still burns my ass that they, and the Ducks, won Cups before the Blues. Not to mention also the Islanders, the Devils, the Flames and all former WHL teams that merged in--Edmonton, Hartford and Quebec in particular since all three have won the Cup though the latter two obviously in new cities. But the Ducks burn my ass the most, they've been in the league the least amount of time of all the Cup champions and are pushing to win two before St. Louis has their next chance to even sniff one.

And they did it with Prongs. If that ain't pouring salt on the wound....oh wait we don't care about winning, so it wouldn't matter. Nevermind.

I hated that guy in the 2010 SCF - he was a such a jerk in interviews and his whole 'stealing the puck' thing after games was pretty silly.

Hell a solid percentage of all former Blues players/coaches have won cups with other teams after being in the note.

Or it feels that way.

Holy crap. Goal disallowed in OT due to it being head-butted in.

I watched all of the 3rd and all of the OT's.

God playoff hockey is amazingly awesome. Sucks the Blues were only watching as well.

These two teams have been beating the crap out of each other and I love it. Especially the Ducks, man. They're hitting anything that moves out there.

The job that Kesler is doing against Toews is astounding.

Another great game. Really wanted the Ducks to go up 3-1 in the series though.

I was at the game last night - several women Ducks fans showed up that were hot california girls. So that was nice. It was also a game where big money guys bring gorgeous model looking girlfriends to the game. So it was great eye candy all night.

Hawks get tacos in Game 6.

P.S. I hate that annoying goal "song" they play.

I was at the game tonight - we love the song. Every team says they hate our goal song but if they were Hawks fans they would love it. I think it's the best goal song in the league - but that's my team so I'm biased.

That song makes me cringe. I mute the T.V. for 30 seconds after each goal.
I remember there was a Steve Carrel movie that had that song on one of the commercials and I refused to watch the movie because of it, yeah I hate the Hawks that much...

I get the bias, but if every other team hates it...

Yours and the Vancouver one have always made me cringe when they play them.

Hope you had a good time at the game. Hard to guess which team shows up for Game 7. Both have looked great and both have looked horrible.
