Hockey Games on PS2

Post by cprice12 »

I recently broke out my old PS2 for my kids. I have NHL 07 and thought about getting a newer version to goof around on. Turns out the last version for PS2 is NHL 09. A quick search on ebay showed it for like $10. So I might just grab that.

Is there any way to update the PS2 NHL 07 (or 09) rosters to modern day rosters like you can on the PC versions? ...and I don't mean doing it by hand.

Not that I know of unless maybe you modded the PS2....or you could make EVERY player a custom player lol.

I might just do the Blues that way...but not every team. Nope. I don't have a week of time to waste.

Man, the Blues rosters on those games must have been supremely crappy. (I understand this helps you in no way)

I pondered where to put it.
It is hockey related, and we set the forum description to include, "anything hockey"...so I think it's ok here. Probably could have gone in either forum.

I don't think so.. Didn't Atlanta have a team back then? Just play blades of steel.

Remember getting that at a Woolworth's! Only penalty = losing a fight. Truly a classic.

Atlanta moved to Winnipeg for the start of the 2011-2012 season. So yeah, they are on there.
Blades of Steel? Bah.

Now if you had said Sega Genesis NHL 94...then I'd be with ya. :okman:

Did you have the seemingly-completely-forgotten NHLPA '93? Couldn't be NHL or have team names because they didn't get the license...also no one-timers or line changes. Also had glitches where your goalie got stuck on the post on wraparounds and it was easiest to score with a pass...still an awesome game though. My dad let us hook the SNES up to his giant tube TV in the family room on Christmas morning to play it-the first video game I ever remember him taking any interest in. Good times.

Man playing NHL on the Sega brings back some great memories for sure.
