Stars are Dallas and there is no 21st round...JesusNEVERexisted wrote:So if the Ducks lose (OT or reg) and the Blues beat Minny they would play Minny in the 21st round. If the Blues lose to Minny and Chicago loses to the Avs then the Blues play the Hawks.
So it's either the Stars or the Hawks if Anaheim wins the West. If the Blues win the West they play Winnipeg.

Re: Scoreboard Watching
I don't know if a single person who claimed to know anything about hockey would've bet at the beginning of the year that the Canucks, Flames and Jets would all make the playoffs and the Stars, Kings and Sharks would not.
Crazy. And that's putting it mildly. What a bizarre regular season. That's why they play the games, as the old adage goes. But great for the Blues! Fewer playoff veteran teams to play through now!

And if Ottawa steals the spot from Pittsburgh, wow. Canada really sticking it to the perennial playoff teams this year.WaukeeBlues wrote:I don't know if a single person who claimed to know anything about hockey would've bet at the beginning of the year that the Canucks, Flames and Jets would all make the playoffs and the Stars, Kings and Sharks would not.

EDIT: Actually looks like Ottawa almost has a spot wrapped up. It's Boston that's on the outs.

Re: Scoreboard Watching
I was wrong about the tiebreaker. Here's how it works for realsies:
Anaheim currently has ROW on us. If we tie them (with a Blues ROW and an Anaheim SO win), it goes to H2H. But, since we played 2 games in Anaheim and only 1 in STL, the first game in Anaheim doesn't count. So, we tie on that one too. Then it goes to goal differential which we win by a ton.

I could have sworn that I heard the last game the Ducks played that if they would have won, then they would have clinched 1st in the west.cardsfan04 wrote:I was wrong about the tiebreaker. Here's how it works for realsies:

Re: Scoreboard Watching
Boston and Pittsburgh have been playing terrible lately. I'll have either or both of them losing in the first round if they get in the playoffs. Pittsburgh can't score, Boston can't keep the puck out of their net, Marchand looks like he's playing sick or hurt or both... just ugly.cardsfan04 wrote:And if Ottawa steals the spot from Pittsburgh, wow. The Canadian teams are straight up sneaking into the playoffs this year. Everyone but Toronto and Edmonton made it. Yikes.

Re: Scoreboard Watching
Pittsburgh lost again yesterday, so they are now a lovely 1 point away from missing the playoffs.
If they lose and Boston wins today, Boston is in. Problem is, Pittsburgh plays Buffalo, and Boston plays Tampa. Advantage Pittsburgh.

Senators win again, and they are in the postseason. Talk about turning your season around.

Anyone facing Ottawa better look out. They certainly peaked at the right time.gaijin wrote:Senators win again, and they are in the postseason. Talk about turning your season around.

Anaheim currently up 1-0. If they win, we face Minnesota in Round 1.
