I didn't watch any of the All Star game. In fact, I'm almost sick of watching regular season hockey too. Fighting is almost non-existent and every team plays the same freakin' way.

Where's the creativity? Where's the hatred? Where's the hair?

At least in the playoffs intensity is at a fever pitch. Regular season? Mostly snorefests.

Flush this league.

It definitely has a different feel to it in the regular season today than in the past. I remember growing up and there were brawls between us and the blackhawks and red wings. I kinda get why they tried to move away from that stuff, but I miss it.

I do agree hockey is not as exciting as was at its peak from the early 80s to the mid 90s. That was the GREATEST era! TONS of scoring! TONS of fighting! Great end to end action! Back then top scorers often got in fights! Look at Brian Sutter fighting during the Monday Night Miracle and then scoring a big goal!

Hockey got so bad in the early to mid 2000s I stopped watching. It's gotten better again but nowhere near as good as the glory days of the 80s & 90s. It will NEVER be that good again!

Certain things about the game are much, much better. Like getting rid of the holding, hooking and slashing that happened non-stop.
Go back and watch a game from the late 80's. Players got mauled going to the net and hooked relentlessly from behind. It's crazy. I forgot how bad it was. But that hockey was still awesome.
That stuff is gone now and it's for the better.

I do wish the fighting and brawls were still as much a part of the game as they once were. Those were good times.
