I read somewhere that Army plans to keep all three until he is certain that Elliott is 100%. I took that to mean that Brodeur will be released at that point, but he didn't actually say it I guess.

That's the smart move...and it's what I expected them to do. Expect Brodeur to be a healthy scratch until he gets waived.

If Brodeur sits up in the pressbox, is he really taking anyone's place? I mean, even after Elliott is 100% and has proved it, keeping Marty as a 'backup' goaltender/coach would be nice.

He'd just be costing us money. So yeah.
But I'm sure Brodeur won't want to be in the pressbox. And the Blues don't exactly have money to burn.
Out of respect to Brodeur, I'm sure the Blues may talk with other teams about a trade. But I doubt anyone gives up anything to get him.
I'd imagine Brodeur would want to get waived if Elliott is 100%. He wants to play somewhere.

I didn't expect to see Elliott this early I was thinking end of January plus a conditioning stint before he returned. By then I figured we would roll 3 goalies till Elliott was for sure 100%, hell maybe the whole year. Keep one and a defenseman in the press box rotate Allen and Brodeur.

I could be wrong by the numbers but to me Brodeur is the better back up and I don't want to see Allen in the playoffs.

I can understand that position but you do have to think about the future, in which Brodeur doesn't figure of course. So Allen needs to playing time and should get it-very much as the back up.

I wonder if Brodeur would take a coaching position with the Blues and retire. I know he wants to play but is he willing to wait another several months for some other goalie to get injured? If he's waived and not claimed can he practice with the Blues?
