It was a 10 game win streak in January 2002.
That was 2 years after their President's trophy season.

iirc Johnson had 3 consecutive shutouts at some point that season, or in the playoffs? Brent freaking Johnson. Of all guys. Our defense was sick back then.

Yeah, I think that's true. 3 is the record for consecutive shutouts. Once by Johnson and three times (!!!) by Elliott. Then Allen was 3 mins away from it himself. 3 consecutive shutouts is insane, but Elliott actually has 241 mins of shutout hockey at one point. It wasn't actually 4 shutouts, but it was 4 full length games in duration which is insane. Elliott might be the most underrated goalie in hockey.

I feel like, from time to time, Elliott tends to give up goals at the most unfortunate times. Not saying I don't like the guy, but I think he'd be better if he could avoid that occasional early goal he lets in.

Doesn't Brent Johnson hold the record for longest shutout streak in the playoffs still?glen a richter wrote:iirc Johnson had 3 consecutive shutouts at some point that season, or in the playoffs? Brent freaking Johnson. Of all guys. Our defense was sick back then.

I could've sworn that was in the playoffs. Didn't da Hawks win the 1st game and then da Blues won 4 straight with Johnson getting 3 straight shutouts? Daze and Kyle Calder were the Hawks big scoring threats! LOL!glen a richter wrote:iirc Johnson had 3 consecutive shutouts at some point that season, or in the playoffs? Brent freaking Johnson. Yep, it was the playoffs in either 2001 or 2002 (I'm not going to look it up so deal with it). Coincidentally, another goalie had a three-game shutout streak in the playoffs that year, the same time as B. Johnson. That goalie?glen a richter wrote:iirc Johnson had 3 consecutive shutouts at some point that season, or in the playoffs? Brent freaking Johnson. Of all guys. Our defense was sick back then.
Patrick Lalime, who later signed with the Blues.
And the rest is [thankfully forgettable] history.

Anyone know the longest win streak in NHL history?
It was 17 games by the 92-93 Pittsburgh Penguins. Lemieux came back from cancer treatments and then tore up the league by getting 51 points in 17 games! A torrid 3 PPG pace! Makes it a lot easier to win with Super Mario blowing by defenses.

Plus the years 85-95 were the greatest hockey era EVER! Tons of great fights and fighters, tons of scoring from the greatest ever like Gretz, Lemieux, and Hull PLUS great end to end action!
