Regardless of what goon says, they can't all be goons. This team needs Schwartz and I was really looking forward to him lining up with Vova and Lehtera this season. At this point, if something got done today would he even be ready for the opener?

I guess it depends on what he's been doing with himself. Is he at least skating somewhere? If he's just sitting in his La-z-boy eating Nacho Cheese Doritos (or Cool Ranch or whatever flavor), probably not, but otherwise I don't think it would take him too much time to get into the flow of things.

He needs to get signed in the next couple days though...

From all the other times players have held out I recall that conventional wisdom was you need to be playing and working out at least 2 to 3 weeks to get back in the groove of things.
