I don't need to see the report to know that the Blues are involved in the Spezza talks. The Blues have their hands in a lot of bags right now, and that's one of them. Army wouldn't come out and say it this morning, but I believe he is very intent on adding offense. I did say a few weeks ago that it might be a top 9 forward, not a top-line, guy who the Blues end up with. That's because they don't know who they're going to be able to get. But the sense I get is that they are desperately trying for a scorer leading up to the draft.

One thing they don't need is a "top-9" guy. They need a top 3 guy. Plenty of top-9 guys on this team.

More like "plenty of middle 6" guys...

Yes, thanks, that's exactly what I meant to say.

We need a top line guy. End of story. Anything else is just recycling mediocrity with the franchise.

although it came from a source whose business involves inventing rumors, Blues have been linked to Ryan Callahan. Wouldn't want that to be the addition, but if its a second acquisition that would be ok.

maybe Bergie and Cole for Spezza and sign Callahan?

Thought he was fitting in in Tampa? I'd be shocked if they just let him walk...
