The fact that they're talking about a 4th one is enough to make my day. I'd love for my son to have one of these movies while he's growing up (outside the original 3).

Also that line early in the piece, "Few would declare it the greatest trilogy in movie history. Many more would call it their favorite."

Who will join me in the few that cal it the greatest trilogy of all time?!

Very cool article and thanks for sharing :okman:

I have a longstanding debate with coworkers that Jesse Hall was the true captain of the Ducks. Adam "Cake Eater" Banks got votes--he's the best player. Obviously, so did Charlie for his state championship heroics. Jesse, however, leads the rebellion against Bombay when he coaches the team to dive all over the ice. His mutiny prompts a change in the coach's attitude and the rest is history. Not to mention, The Oreo Line was the most productive line down the stretch.

It's a crime Jesse didn't attend Eden Hall, because he would have immediately held Charlie accountable for his puck hogging and refusal to play defense. I see you, #9. You've got the "C" in my book.

You know, I have watched these movies, I've dissected them, and I've never looked at it that way. But I like it. You bring up tons of good points. Charlie Conway was the de facto Captain because he got by on grit and determination, less on talent. We didn't question it. He was the 'Minnesota Miracle Man.' But Jesse as Captain is definitely an intriguing way to look at it now. I'm going to have to watch through these again with that lens on.

Those movies don't contain the Triple Deke, the Oreo Line, the Flying V, the knucklepuck, or Wolf 'The Dentist' Stansson.

In all honesty, I can't wait to show these movies to my son. They're good, cheesy fun and they're part of the reason I became a hockey fan. Reading this brought back good memories and it made me pretty happy that the actors and crew had about as good of a time making it as I've had over the years watching them.

Also, the plot they had originally concocted for the 3rd one is way better than the actual plot the studio wanted them to go with (the JV/Varsity one). Oh well, I really hope they make a 4th one.

I have never understood Estevez's exit at the end of D3. I have always understood the varsity team coming down the hall right behind him as meaning that Estevez was secretly coaching the Eden Hall team the entire movie and his smirk being "they beat my team. Good work guys." It makes no other sense why they'd show the players following him yet in that article in elsewhere I've read that it's just a coincidence. Likes he's leaving and the players are coming down the hall being like "what are you doing over here? Get out of our area?"

Makes no sense.
