Tickets to Game 2 for sale

Post by cardsfan04 »

Posted with Curt's permission.

My dad and I bought tickets to each game of the first two rounds with the intention of selling 1 game each round to somewhat cover the cost of the rest of the tickets. Normally, we'd just sell them at face value, but the only reason we are selling them is to offset costs of other games.

Anyway, if anybody is interested in GAME TWO let me know.

Tickets are in 309 (corner/end where we shoot twice). Row G, Seats 1-2 (Aisle). We are looking for $125/ticket. Face value is $55 I believe (I'd have to look it up to be certain). They are currently listed on StubHub, but we'll take em down if somebody here wants them.

It's a free market. He can ask whatever he wants for the tickets.

With that said...you can find them on craigslist as well. Some are trying to make a profit, others are selling them for face value...some are selling for less than face.

I guess that is the problem, I thought that this was a fan site, I know I have purchased tickets from multiple members on this site and I know they were doing it for the right reason. Going out and intentionally buying more than you were using is a scumbag douche canoe move. I know I cannot afford a playoff ticket, but someone might have had enough for a $55 ticket but not $125, that's (Franking) gouging. I wish I had the money so I could sit next to you all night and be obnoxious. Unfortunately, I am not nearly rich and connected enough to gouge my fellow fans in the interest of pure profit over seeing the team that they love. Good luck ripping people off asshole.

Yeah, I've gotta agree with sseagle. It's one thing to go over face to cover ticketmaster/stub hub/ etc. bull$hit fees. It's another to ask fellow members on a fan site to cover your tab.

I will add my two cents. I bought my tickets from the Blues for $26 per ticket. Now I am a ticket holder and I bought ahead of time while renewing my seats for next year. If cards fan and his dad are in my same situation (and I don't know if they are) then they are selling for way more than 2 times face value because they would have bought them for less than face value.

Unlike sseagle, I am rich and well connected. I will purchase said tickets at face value +20%, but only if they are next to you, and subject to my demands:

1. I intend to eat seven Taco Bell chili cheese burritos prior to the game, which will probably aggravate my Chron's disease. Of course, I will wear an adult diaper, because I find public bathrooms disgusting. You must not make reference to the stench, or act as if it bothers you in any way.

2. I intend to ask your father what sex with your mother is like, because that intrigues me at the moment. He must answer truthfully and completely.

3. I will also bring my child, who is ill-behaved, and will sit him next to you. Since you only have two tickets, I cannot purchase one for the nanny, so you must be responsible for what the child does.

Those are my demands. I also enjoy the free market, and look forward to your reply.

Sorry if this offended people. Wasn't my intention. That being said, I'm not going to waste my time justifying trying to sell these at market value because I don't think I'm doing anything wrong.

During the regular season, if I were to offer tickets, I would probably just give them away to somebody on here. I was blatantly transparent in my original post so I wouldn't be accused of ripping anybody off. If people think that it's too much, I apologize.

You need to work on your grift , its not the 30s people don't want honesty. I bought this ticket for my fiancee that ran off with a red wings fan, and the extra would help ease the heartache.... go with that, don't be an asshole

To each his own.
I've never told folks what they can or can't sell their tickets for on this site. That's not my place.

If you don't like what he is doing and you want tickets, he is not the only one selling playoff tickets...so you have other sources...many of whom aren't trying to profit on the sale and will sell you their tickets at face value.

Craigslist and Stubhub have tickets for less than face value right now.

The market will drive the price. If his price is too high, they won't sell.

Personally, I don't think he'll get what he is asking unless it is a game 7 situation...then maybe. We'll see.

I just bought my tickets to game #1. Waited on purpose to find 'em cheaper than face value online.

2 tickets at $40/each...plus StubHub BS charges...ended up being $92.95 total. Would have been over $120 for two face value tickets + BS charges through Ticketmaster.

I'm happy with that.

My last playoff game was game 7 in '94-'95 vs. Vancouver.

I'm looking forward to this. :cup:

I hear what you're saying. Never did I think of this as a big money-making scheme off of fellow Blues fans. We put the tickets on StubHub a couple of days ago. I thought we would ask $75-100, give or take. But, my dad saw tickets higher up in our section going for $125, so he listed them as that thinking that was fair market value. I too think that's a little more than what we'll get or should be asking, but figured that's at least in the ballpark.

They hadn't sold yet, so I figured I'd offer them here. Not because I was trying to make a lot of money off of fellow fans, but because I thought somebody might be interested and thought $125 was in the ballpark of fair market value (albeit admittedly toward the high side). There are certainly better deals to be found online than what I offered, but I thought this was a fair offer. And, I'm not married to $125 either. But, I thought that was a fair starting point given other prices in the same section on StubHub.

Sorry that I offended people. I really didn't think I would be and it certainly wasn't my intention.

This kind of ruined my day yesterday because I don't like being the center of negative attention. So, I gave it a lot of thought overnight. And, I shouldn't have posted this at a markup here. That was tacky. I should have left it to StubHub if I wanted to sell for a markup.

We bought a strip when we renewed our tickets for next year, so we would have the opportunity to buy tickets in rounds 3 and 4. We were torn on whether we would want to go to every game and whether we could afford to buy tickets to later rounds. So, we decided we would sell some at market value if people were interested. But, at face value, we would prefer to just go ourselves. While I don't think that is wrong in and of itself, I probably shouldn't have come to a fan forum to try to sell at a profit.

I buy tickets on StubHub all the time, frequently above face value for special games. So, I didn't really think anything of asking above face value when I posted it. Like I said, while I don't think there is anything wrong with selling above face value, this isn't the place I should have come looking for a buyer. And for that I apologize. I didn't think it through well enough before posting. So, I'm sorry for being tacky.

Give the guy a break.
He's not doing anything wrong.
There is nothing wrong with trying to sell something for as much as you can.

With that said, I'm going to lock this. I think everyone has said what they wanted to say.
