Because It's The Cup

I'm not sure we've addressed this yet, but the NHL has replaced the "History Will Be Made" playoffs ads with "Because It's The Cup."

Some ads are already out, including one that encourages the 20-something beer me crowd to head to the bars for some hockey (as if they needed a reason--but whatevs). If you've watched NBC Sports at all in the last week, you've seen this one.

Team-specific ads are coming out, too. Here's a preview of the first one for the Blues:

I like it.

It's always in the back of my mind...one of these years they're going to do it. One of these years they are going to beat some ass in the playoffs and grab the cup for the first time and I'm going to actually see it happen and think to myself, HOLY (Frank) I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!. One of these years... maybe...just maybe, it will be this year.

If not this year...things look very good over the next couple years.

A big part of me is just hoping they don't shit the bed in the first round though. The nightmare 1st round from 2000 still haunts me.
