Masons rights to Philly?
Could happen. Blues had made comments about possibly adding a pick or two, and Eklund reported the rumor of Flyers trading for his rights. Could be a fit, if you only get a #4 or something.

Wouldn't mind seeing this. But we aren't in any real position of power in terms of bargaining. We're already set in goal and he's just a lame duck contract. But if we could get an extra late round pick, I'm all for it!

Mason is a RFA, right?
I say we wait for a team to sign him to an offer sheet..... alright, I know it won't work but we'd get some good picks out of it. The whole offer sheet compensation structure needs to be revised to match the growth in salaries. You can sign a third liner and have to give up a first round pick...ridiculous.

No. Mason's over the age and years of service limit to qualify for RFA status. As of July 1 he's a UFA and is free to sign anywhere. But if Philly wants to get a jump on the UFA goalie market we can trade his negotiating rights to them for a mid-low level draft pick. Their level of interest will determine our return.tomcat16 wrote:Mason is a RFA, right?

This has been a trend recently, with Philly being the most common player.
