This.

Although I find no joy in the Flyers winning.

The time off (4 days) really helps the Hawks more. Flyers cool down a bit and Duncan Keith goes to the dentist. The Hawks did have a 5th day (yesterday) too.

:cup:

Time to trot out the annual "why are the tv ratings so low for hockey in mid-June" routine...

Please don't win Blackhawks, I beg of you. I do not want to be tormented all summer by the greatest bandwagon known to man. The 10,000 Hawks fans who toiled with the team through the 90's and earlier (and I can only presume that's how many there are since that's how many were in the United Center usually) deserve to have their team win a cup and for them and only them will I be happy for if the Hawks win.

Then again seeing Chris Pronger in a 3rd different jersey with a "Staney Cup Finals" patch on it just makes me want to vomit in disgust that that never happened in a bluenote...

10,000 real fans is a little high. When I had my season tickets they announced 10,000 for weekday games...I'd be surprised if it was more than 7,000 on most games. I have to admit that the bandwagon fans ruin it for me a little bit, but whatever. Most of them don't even know that Leighton used to be our "goalie of the future". I've waited long enough for the Hawks to be here, so nothing's going to ruin this for me win or lose. I'll still be here when the cool kids ditch the Hawks for Lebron and the Bulls.

Hockey in the middle of June is like Baseball in the middle of November: Yecch, fix this please.

How? By shortening the season? No thanks.

I cant cheer for one team or the other, but the Flyers is one team I can't stand. They all look like greasy f-cks that should taken around back and shot.

Especially Pronger and his Ben Rapelessberger haircut.

The only reason I feel the slightest ability to pick one side over the other is that I work with a guy who's a big fan of Philadelphia sports and I'd be happy for him. Other than that, both the Hacks and the Cryers could go screw.

They just need to bite the bullet one year and start the season a month sooner- first weekend of September instead of October. Now that's going to suck ass for the teams that played in the cup that year and it'll be a short offseason but they have to do something. The finals this year might go to June 11, that's ridiculous. That way the season is wrapping up the first week or two of May, you stay out of a lot of the competition with NBA TV ratings and aren't playing hockey when more people are concerned about what color swim suit they're buying this year instead of the Cup Finals.

I just read that the Flyers finished with 88 points on the season. The Blues finished with 90.

One is in the Stanley Cup Finals...one didn't even make the playoffs.

It feels like the break until next season has already started. Can't imagine this will do wonders for viewership.
