2010 Playoffs - Round 1

Post by cprice12 »

What a game going on in Colorado between San Jose and the Avalanche right now.

Series tied 1-1, game is 0-0...Anderson just made his 50th save...and we're heading to a scoreless overtime.

Awesome.

Wow...ridiculous game.

Boyle shoots it into his own net not even a minute into OT....Colorado wins after being dominated in shots 50-16.

San Jose had 21 shots in the 2nd period and 21 shots in the 3rd period...and Anderson stopped them all. Wow.

Must be nice to have a goalie that can win you games in the playoffs.

Oh the Blues have had those- just not for more than one playoffs run at a time (and even sometimes only for one series) a la Turek and Johnson.

Seeing Boyle put it in his net just made me happy- even though I like the Sharks now. San Jose-ites deserve to have their dreams shattered like we did with fluke goals.

I'm pulling for them this year. Every season they put a great team on the ice for the regular season and find a way to blow it in the playoffs before the conference finals. There's something familiar about it that I can't quite put my finger on...

I believe O'Reily got a stick on it and deflected it towards the goal. But the goalie should have been covering the goal better.

After the Ottawa 3OT win:

After talking about how he won a 4OT and a 5OT game when he was a NHL player, Keith Jones discussed how important momentum is when winning in multiple OT games. Then he spurts out this gem: "It has a major influence. This one just in the 3OT period so I don't think it is as important." What?!

Flyers wrap up the Devils tonight. That was surprising. 0-1 on the playoff pick 'em so far.

Fallout on an early Devils exit on Kovalchuk? Thoughts either way? This just gives the Devils more time now to tinker with a long term deal with him but something is telling me he's going to hit the open market.

With his high tag and being a potential 50-goal scorer on a highly defensive team, I see him hitting the market. He did have 27 points in 27 games with the club, but he was brought in for a Cup run. Experiment failed; time to move on for the Devils.

Let's go Phoenix? I really don't care if it messes up my Round 1 picks- I would get greater satisfaction from watching Detroit get eliminated by a higher-ranked "underdog." :detsucks:

Wow, Zetts totally knocks the goal off while the yotes on the PP (not pushed, no pile). No call, nothing...except the VS announcer calls it "cagey".

WTF

Why do I watch hockey???

To disagree, one doesn't have to be disagreeable.
