That alone gets him in.
There is a US Hockey Hall-of-Fame. And I know Housley, Modano, and Roenick have more points than KT.
You are correct sir...

Leetch and Lafontaine are ahead of him too, then after TK is Weight.

Tkachuk has 1063 points right now, tied with Joe Mullen.
LaFontaine and Leetch have fewer.

I really think it is only Housley, Roenick, and Modano as the only US-Born players in the NHL to accumulate more points. (excluding mullen)

Here is an article I just came across about whether or not TK should be in the HOF.

that article is spot on.

a guy like lafontaine had a stretch of 7 of 9 seasons with 40+ goals. When you kick a ton of ass like that, you get in.

Tkachuk had 2 50 goals seasons but no 100 point seasons, and was largely a garbage goal guy... in other words, his skills were nothing to write home about. Not that that takes anything away from him, but he wasn't flashy.

And now on to the bulk of the problem: for an alleged power forward, he sure didn't fight much. I put him in the same categroy as Chelios: how the eff did he get that many PIMs when he rarely fought? It's just bullshit penalties and honestly, the guy's first intinct was to slash somebody instead of pummel them into the ice with his fists... that lack of old skool attitude does NOT go unnoticed.

I don't think he gets in at all, ever.

Point is the bar has been raised. What used to be automatic "Bingo" numbers for admission, like 500 goals, is no longer enough on it's own. And I'm not sure KT has the window dressing to go along with it to get in. Certainly not for a while.

He was the elder statesman. Maybe he didn't take on as many responsibilities as the years went on but there was a comforting feeling to having him around year in and year out. And if he'd played the full season this year, he probably would've hit 20 goals again, even this late in his career.

And I have one other thing to thank him for- he's the reason I'm a Blues fan. He was my idol growing up in the mid-90's when he was a monster and when he got traded to the Blues I thought the 'Yotes were insane to trade him (this before my real understanding of the necessity of trade deadline deals, etc) but started following the Blues anyway. Following the Blues turned to loving 'em and I am now a Blues fan for life because of him.

I will miss Walt. More so then his production, he stood up for teamates, he helped straighten out younger players, and he always had time for fans.

That said, I also didn't realize he fleeced the organization for $60 million over his tenure. I don't care how big of a Walt fan you are, that's a lot of jack.

Just adding to the list here, but Hasek, Sakic, and Forsberg.

Thats 7 over 2 years, with one spot open for Oates, Gilmour, etc

Wait, are we talking about the hockey HOF or the international diving HOF?

I won't miss him. I couldn't stand him when he was with the jets/yotes and I couldn't stand him in the Blue Note. Thank GOD the Tkachuk era is finished.

I like the guy, and I think the team will be different without him. Time will tell if that's better or worse.
