Colorado only has one win in their last six games. And they have a really tough schedule coming up. Their only "easy" game is against Edmonton and that one is on the road.

They're doing their part. Now the Blues pretty much have to run the table. Can we win nine in a row to finish the season?? :shock:

Between Calgary, Colorado and St. Louis... St. Louis has the easiest schedule...not by a lot, but it's a little easier.

Six pts. out with six games to go. Colorado has seven games left and the best Colorado can do and still see the Blues making the playoffs, is 2-4-1 (Colorado is actually 2-4-1 in their last seven games...so they need to do it again)...and that's if the Blues go 6-0 in their last six. And that's also hoping Calgary plays three pts. worse than the Blues the rest of the way.

Sheesh.

The Blues lost their shot at glory when they let the Avalanche get two points at their expense.

:plusplus: add to that list "at home."

The long and the short of it is that the Blues, with how they've played all year, all told, do not deserve to make the playoffs.

Colorado has a pretty tough schedule the rest of the way, but a certain win against Edmonton there towards the end should pretty much seal an early tee time for the Blues.

I think this is about best case scenario for the Blues (we split the games with NSH and win out the rest):
@Nsh - W
Dal - W
Cls - W
@Chi - W
Anh - W
@Nsh - L
93 Points

Colorado - about the best we could ask for:
Cgy - L
SJ - L
@Van - L
@Edm - W
Chi - L
LA - L
Points: 91

Then there's Calgary:
@Col - W
@Chi- L
SJ - L
Min - W
@Van - L
Points: 91

So the Blues have to go 5-1, and the two teams near them have to go about 3-8.

That really puts things into perspective. So basically, it would take a miracle at this point... not impossible, but HIGHLY statistically unlikely... Colorado and Calgary losing all of those games, when they have such a huge step on the Blues, doesn't seem likely...

Time for Conklin and Mason to pitch 6 shutouts in a row... along with a bunch of crappy games by other teams...

Sucks 3 of those are home games. You can pencil those in as losses.

So the Blues went 0-4 vs. the Avs this year.

If the math in my head is right, if the Blues had simply split the series 2-2, they would currently be tied for 8th with a game in hand against the slumping Calgary. The Avs would now be practically out of the picture as well.

The whole season really came down to a terrible series vs the Avs.

Fox 2 News Sucks! Just sent randi nauton this email:

"Might as well call it the NHL Playoffs" referring to everybody getting in when talking about some tournament this morning. FYI - The Blues lost last night pretty well eliminating them mathematically from the playoffs this season. Thought you should know.

We could be in the playoffs by 6 points and it wouldn't matter at this point if we keep pissing leads down our legs.

As I said a loooong time ago, we are too far out to make it happen. Hopefully the rest of you are finally on board.

Another big night tonight. Calgary and Colorado both play, against Chicago and San Jose, respectively.

I can't bring myself to say anything to encourage the Hawks or Sharks, so I'll say it this way- I hope both Calgary and Colorado lose tonight.

Even if, and this is a tremendous if, the Blues managed to somehow get into the playoffs, which would have them relying on a lot of help from a lot of other teams, they'd shit themselves in the 1st round and go down in a 4 game fizzle. There's simply too much of a Kariya, Brewer, Jackman, Cam, Winchester, Walt stink on the roster.
