Ice Dancing vs Ice Hockey, Ice Dancing wins.

Post by abc789987 »

Hmm, what would you rather watch?
The U.S. vs. Canada men's preliminary-round showdown Feb. 21 won't be shown on NBC, but on cable's MSNBC at 7 p.m. EST. Instead, the Peacock will bring fans an exhilarating night of ice dancing, women's speedskating, men's freestyle skiing and men's giant slalom – rather than what amounts to an NHL all-star game on an international stage.
NBC explains its ice-dancing-over-U.S./Canada-hockey decision
So we reached out to NBC for comment and context, and found out who gets the blame for this malarkey: American women.

I'd be upset if I had NBC, but I don't....so I can actually watch the game if its on MSNBC. I don't have a problem with it at all.

Women love ice dancing/ice skating and I am sure the ratings whoop hockey.

NBC needs to have more options for the olympics for people who don't have cable...maybe three stations created just for the olympics that people could pay for...maybe $50. They could name the stations Red, White, and Blue and show events non-stop on each station. They could rerun the popular ones overnight and have recap shows overnight as well.

It's genius.

That's a good idea, I'd definitely pay 50 bones for something like that.

I was actually joking.
NBC tried this in 1992...and it flopped...maybe because it actually cost $95-$170.
It was called, the Triplecast.

You usually can't sign up for cable without a contract of some sort.

NBC even cut out the live streaming of events to cut costs.
