Team didn't play as consistently as I would have liked, but those two passes by Weaver and Boyes to set up the Andy McDonald goal were perfect and something this team has lacked all year. Too often does a stretch pass not work out because of a poor pass or the lead man not being able to control that pass once it hits his stick. But that was a beautiful end to end play. Also liked the set up on the Oshie game winner with Kariya, Backes and Oshie charging hard to the net, Regeher slid to take Backes leaving Oshie wide open in the slot; Kariya saw that and placed a perfect pass on Oshie's stick for the top shelf goal.

By the way, did anyone watch the Calgary feed? Was it me or did their announcer keep pronouncing 'Oshie' as 'Yoshi'?
He pronounced Perron as "Perr-ah" as well.

I enjoyed the Calgary pay per view feed. No commercials and lots of interviews and special features when commercials would normally air.

Hull stiffed them though. They were supposed to have him on after the 1st period, which I was really looking forward to. I wanted to hear what questions they asked him and how he responded to a primarily Calgarian audience.

To be fair, they got Perron's name/pronunciation correct.

What was with the jerseys that they had the old Blues wear during the pre-game ceremony? Don't get me wrong, those are my favorite Blues jerseys. But some of them had names/numbers on the back, some also on the sleeves, and the worst part about it was that they were all replicas  When Chicago suited up their old guys for their first home game this year, they were given the style jerseys they played with, not just whatever the team had sitting around unused in a closet someplace

Maybe there's something to this "Blues being so broke they can't fire Murray" stuff.

Depends who you talk to.
The St. Louis play-by-play guys on tv and radio pronounce it, "Perron". Of any announcers, you'd think they would know.

But then again, home announcers don't always get it right either... the infallable Ken Wilson pronounced Jochen Hecht's name three different ways when he was here..."hesht", "heck'd" and "hetch". Maybe if he would have done his job and talked to the players, he'd know how to pronounce their names.

Great job Curt, never to miss a bash against Wilson. Except you're pretty much wrong, pronouncing their names is something Wilson usually did correctly. Turgeon was always TURG-awh, not TURG-on. Bergevin was BERG-eveh. That's how French Canadians do it, you see, and it's why Perron is something like PEAR-awh instead of the Americanized version of it.

I didn't realize that our PBP guys all of the sudden reached the same pedestal you hold KW up to, because to everyone else they are pretty bad. Besides, how does Ken Wilson have anything to do with what I said? :moran:

Damn right. And I'll keep doing it.
Have you forgotten how bad he was his last few years here, and the childish hissy-fit he threw when he left? IMO, the dude came off as a major tool. I don't forget stuff like that.
There is a reason he isn't calling NHL games anywhere else right now.
I was only talking about Hecht and how Wilson mis-pronounced his name. And he pronounced it differently every year. He used to pretty much say on the air that he had no idea how to pronounce it and pondered how it was supposed to be pronounced. Here's an idea Ken...ASK JOCHEN HECHT.
I didn't realize that our PBP guys all of the sudden reached the same pedestal you hold KW up to, because to everyone else they are pretty bad. Besides, how does Ken Wilson have anything to do with what I said? :moran:
Get over it.
All I said was that you'd think the local PBP guys would know how to pronounce the local players names.
I'm not saying they are always right (Ken Wilson proved that, which is why I brought up Wilson and his (mis)pronunciation of Hecht), I'm just saying the local guys should...SHOULD... know the proper ways to pronounce the names of the players on their team, so I defer to their pronunciation unless I hear otherwise since they should be in the know.

Personally, I'd much rather see Kerber and Pang on TV with Chase at ice level. I think Kerbs does a very good job. Federko actually does a pretty good job when he's in the studio between periods of away games. He should just stay there.

Weak sauce Curt, but whatever. I'm sorry the departure of Ken Wilson still personally affects you to this day
