Playing not to loose

Post by DaDitka »

We all know that prevent defense prevent victories and playing not to loose ends in losses more then victories.

So why did Carlo and EJ have teh fewest minutes in OT of all the D-men last night?

Murray should know we suck at shoot outs, just got luck and won on, and it's the freakign Red-Wins. Why the hell weren't we playing for the win? I simply don't get it.

In the post game press conference, Murray said, "we had the right guys on the ice when the game tying goal was scored."

Really?

Jackman and Pollack were "the right guys"? Pollack maybe...but I'd have liked to have seen EJ out there. Jackman is mainly only good for NOT getting the puck out of the zone at crucial times.

Personally, I don't want Jackman on the ice when the game is on the line. Put your most skilled guys on the ice and may the better line prevail.

Norm Sanders Tweeted to me that the players on the ice need to get the puck out of the zone in that situation. Well, I say the coach needs to put the team in the best position to win the game by putting the right players on the ice. I think Murray failed to do that at the end of Saturday night's game.

Detroit had their best players on the ice to end the game...Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Lidstrom... pretty simple really. Jackman is NOT one of our top 2 defenseman...so why was he out there??

Jackman played against that line the whole game.

He didn't play against THAT line. Zetterberg and Datsyuk weren't on the same line most of the game.
Detroit switched it up and put their best players out there...Blues should have done the same since we had last change.

Apropo of nothing, time's running out on getting Peter Laviolette if Darren Dreger (TSN) is to be believed:
DarrenDreger Flyers coach John Stevens is running out of time. He needs his team to win. If Stevens gets gonged, Laviolette is a contender for the job.
