I think backes is getting a goalie interference penalty here which is total BS. Might be a roughing call to Fo with it. Not sure.

Ok, first post here, and i know it should be positive, but I can't take it anymore. Pang is getting on my nerves. Does anyone else notice his over appreciation for the opposing team? I realize you shouln't be completely one sided, but he constantly brags on the opposition. Sorry for the rant on the first post. Now I'll watch the rest of the game and catch my breath. :letsgoblues:

Jesus, just get this thing to overtime and take your point.

We have absolutely no chance at a regulation goal here; we simply look like we're skating in quicksand for the last 35 minutes. We've been on our heels since the Reeves fight.

I can't believe these are the same 2 teams I watched in the first period.

Wow.

That has to be the worst 45 minutes of hockey these guys have played in a very long time.

Way WAY too many turnovers. That flurry at the end of OT was because McDonald somehow thought it was wise to spin into the defensive zone before losing the puck. When A-Mac is playing braindead hockey, you know the guys just are not focused.

I'm not sure if it's the press-clippings or the first period success, but they simply do not appear focused.

Fortunately the shootout is essentially a complete crapshoot, so its anyone's point, I guess...

Blues didn't deserve to win that game and probably shouldn't have even got a point. But, the Hawks still had to take them to a shootout to get the extra point. I'll take it. Blues look completely gassed. Maybe a call for General Schwartzkoff on Thursday?

We let up. That simple. We came into the 3rd period looking like there was 5 minutes left in the game. Very slight forecheck, we marched to the penalty box... you just don't win when that happens.

Halak was playing out of his mind tonight. When Keith had that open look in the middle of the ice in OT I thought it was over. He bailed out the Blues SEVERAL times. We just can't act like we're up by 2 goals even when we are. They call it the worst lead in hockey for a reason.

How 'bout the real Stormin' Norman?

They've been sliding a bit over the last 3 games, perhaps your right that they need an infusion of energy. Or maybe someone just needs to rip them a new asshole.

Just like Crash said - "They're kids...scare 'em"

Well to me the boys seemed really gassed from their long road trip. Lots of 'tired' mistakes. The good news is that they got 1 point and played terrible...and Halak has been amazing. Sure hope the boys can get some rest to get their legs back. I didn't like many of the calls, but when you are a team on ropes you usually don't get the calls. The blues were definitely on the ropes.

I'm never going to call a loss a good game. Never. But, maybe we got cocky? We know the Blues are the best defensive hockey team in the league. And, I'm sure we could quote a lot of stats that say the same, about them scoring 3 and whatnot. I bet the players know that, in general terms, as well. Seems that they got a 2 goal lead and let up.

But, if this game teaches them a lesson that makes them better about letting up in the playoffs, good for them. I'd much rather have it against an irrelevant team like Chicago (God, I LOVE saying that) than against the Red Wings on April 4.

Remember the times when would say things like "If only our goalies would stand up once in a while and steal a game or two?"

Save for our goaltending, we walk away with 0 points in the last two games, not the 3 we got.

Should I be concerned about the amount of deflection/tip drill goals we get? I'm looking for something to panic about.

Well, that game sucked.
Truckload of turnovers, bad passes and sloppy play...and Chicago really took it to us for the last two periods.

I'm not sure what the hell Mayers was upset about...Reaves got him with a good clean hit. Sure, make him answer the bell if he is going to dish out a hit like that, that's understandable, but to go off on the Blues bench, saying he is going to go after a skilled guy? What the hell?

The play that led to McDonald's goal was a thing of beauty. Great pass by Perron.

Halak was very good, but damnit, his glove looked shakey again. The goal that went in off a skate was the result of Halak not being able to hold on to the puck. It hasn't been an issue in a while, but it was tonight. He couldn't hold on to a number of shots.

Very fortunate to get a point...but Detroit is losing 4-2 in LA in the 3rd...so even with this crap game, if LA can hold on, we extended our lead in the division and conference to 7 pts. over Detroit.

Oddly enough, tonight's game ended up being productive.
