Some might be questioning the Blues schedule this season. Well, the big difference is the start and the finish, instead of the steady stream of games in the middle.
Last season, the Blues got to start slow and end slow. This season, the start and the end are going to be a pain.
Season Start
2015-16 5 games in 9 days to start with the first three spread over 6 days.
2016-17 5 games in 9 days, but 3 of them in the first four days.
Season End
2015-16 5 games in 9 days with the last 3 spread over 6 days.
2016-17 5 games in 8 days, but 3 of them in the last four days.
Games on back-to-back nights - 12 for both seasons.
Why the change? Don't know. Season breaks look like this
2015-16 2 4-day breaks, 1 6-day break, and a 9-day break.
2016-17 6 days at Christmas, 5 days for the All-Star break at the end of January, 4 days in mid-February, 6 days at the end of February (the new NHLPA extended break from the CBA)
It's the same number of breaks spaced approximately the same, the same number of back-to-back nights except for two of the back-to-back nights starting and ending the season.
