Maybe the whole thing gets cancelled because of a smallpox breakout. That would be groovy.

Don't really feel any intense desire to set aside the time to watch this one. Also not a huge Pens fan but would rather see them win again over seeing San Jose win a cup before us.
Rooting for a sweep by Pittsburgh.

Go Pens. I agree, Portland, in that misery loves company. Keep the Sharks Cupless.
Also, it'd be sweet to see Phil the Thrill skate with the chalice, if only to shove it up the rears of all the Toronto media mongrels that ran him out of town.

really really really really want Joe Thornton to retire without a cup. Man I hate that dude.
I dont hate Crosby like everyone else. Would be cool to see him with another cup.

Same. In fact, I totally respect Sid. That pass through the slot from the left wing last night just shows how much talent and ice sense he has.Krigloch the Furious wrote:really really really really want Joe Thornton to retire without a cup. Man I hate that dude.

Re: Stanley Cup Final : Pittsburgh v San Jose
Here's an interesting factoid I was thinking about this morning. Checked to confirm and I was right...
The Blues and Sharks have played each other in 5 playoff series' and alternated series w/l the entire time... L/W/L/W/L so next time we face them it should be a lock to win.

I gotta root for the Sharks guys at this point - they've never won a cup and the Pens already have 3. I always take the team that has never won or has the least. So if it was Blues vs Pens I'd be rooting for the Blues (did I just say that? - good god). Not over yet - both games very close so far and I always believe you haven't lost anything until you've lost on home ice. And the Sharks are really good at home.

Love how Logan Ko-choor was whining that Crosby cheats on faceoffs. Also nice cheap shot on Crosby by Jumbo the other night.
Go Pens.

Re: Stanley Cup Final : Pittsburgh v San Jose
You all really hate the Sharks.
I hate the Penguins for many reasons.
1) Sidney Crosby cheating on faceoffs all the time and always getting away with it.
2) Kris Letang doing Pronger imitations but only being penalized once every 3 games while easily committing 3 stick infractions per game.
3) Friggin' NBC loving the crap out of things Pens related and claiming calls are even when the Penguins get away with a high stick that isn't called beyond the two calls that washed out.
4) Sidney Crosby not ever being penalized for anything he does wrong while whining to officials about things the other team does which are the same things he does and isn't penalized for. He's been doing this the entire friggin' playoffs, again. As he has done in every playoff series in which he's played.
F the PENGUINS!!!
Too bad this can't end with both teams losing.
Okay. I don't hate Phil Kessel, like most people.

The Penguins have better uniforms, especially the black home unis.
The Sharks have horrific unis and a horrific logo.

The Bay City has won too many championships in the last 6 - 8 years....Giants have won 3 WS, the Warriors won the 2015 'ship and are primed to win back to back this season. Down with the Sharks.

Yep and the 49ers were in back to back NFC title games and made a Super Bowl appearance.

The factors cited above re: the Bay Area may be somewhat balanced by the consistently god-awful Raiders who look likely to leave soon. I certainly do feel for that situation.
Re: Stanley Cup Final : Pittsburgh v San Jose
Screw Raider Nation and their obnoxiousness. I don't feel for that at all. Given what their owner did for years to players simply because of his narcissism, Raiders fans get what the root for.ecbm wrote:The factors cited above re: the Bay Area may be somewhat balanced by the consistently god-awful Raiders who look likely to leave soon.
