Good to have you here. You say you have family from Missouri- is that in the past or does some of your family still live here?englishcowboy wrote:Lets go back 4 years i get bored of watching nascar on my laptop. I insert "lit" into sentences here and there when in the presence of my teenagers just to get a rise out of them. It's a lot of fun.theohall wrote:ecbm wrote:Eh, just roll with it-we called stuff "sick" and "stupid" and my parents rolled their eyes. Payback time, I guess.glen a richter wrote:Nope, to teenagers it basically translates to something being really great. Such as "those shoes are lit!" Kids are weird these days.ecbm wrote:Huh. I thought it was just the past participle of "light"...as in "lit up"...glen a richter wrote:It's been lit? Jesus, i feel like I'm at work. Honestly, I use that term from time to time just to impress on my kids how stupid it sounds. Don't be so damn lazy, just say "legit". Hell, even that's lazy but slang for slang takes it to a weird extreme.

I still can't believe he has no clue about the "Long Live the Note" #rallyboobs considering he got hooked watching the game on TV during a Game 7 @ St Louis.
Those are hard to miss being right behind the visitors bench and visible on TV every time the away coach is shown.
