So, this isn't how I filled out my bracket for the challenge....but this is how I'd love to see the Blues win the Cup:

Blues over Chicago. I don't care how many games...just beat them.
Blues over Dallas. Beat the division winner. Hitch gets his old franchise.
Blues over LAK. Leaving no doubt in anyone's mind the Blues won the West by taking out the two teams that won 5 of the last 6 SC Finals.

Blues over Detroit. How unbelievably sweet would it be to topple the Red Wings? It would immediately erase all the bittersweet memories of playoff losses to that franchise.

In the end, the Blues punch their old rivals in mouth en route to winning the ultimate prize. Braggin' rights and no reason to take any more #!$# from either fan base.

Caps will make it to the Finals. Book that.

The West is anyone's game.

Barring perfect timing, the Caps are winning the Cup this year anyway. The most likely matchups to be competitive against the Caps would be the Blues, Hawks or Preds--teams with some shred of defensive ability. The Stars would get righteously destroyed by them. I see very little likelihood of any team beating Washington in a 7 game series unless they just magically get cold at exactly the wrong time.

Then again, the Flyers aren't much of an opponent so we'll see how they fare against Pittsburgh. They'll roll all over the other remaining EC teams.

Not that I am much of a gambling man...but if I was...I would be careful not take Jeff Ponders advice. Nothing like picking the Kings to win it all and then watch them go out in the 1st Round!!

A couple guys are tied for 1st. I assume it will come down to the tiebreaker for them...which is goals scored in the finals.

And if the Pens win, Thomaster will win...he is now in 4th.
