Worst officiated game I have seen in a while. Holy cow.

I like how Shattenkirk applauded the ref after the game, congratulating him on giving Winnipeg that game...which they essentially did. Not to take anything away from Pavelec, because he was great...but we had a goal taken away that should have counted...and had a horrible 4 minute double minor called against Oshie and a horrible missed call that should have been a 4 minute PP for us in the 3rd when Backes was high sticked. Plus the no call on the trip to Schwartz that directly led to a breakaway for them.

Ugh. Awful, awful, awful.

This game was a war. I would welcome a first round matchup against Winnipeg. I think the players would welcome it as well. I'm sure they want a big fat piece of them right now.

Would have been huge to at least get a point because Chicago and Nashville both lost in regulation.

I do love how pissed and animated the Blues were when they were getting hosed during the game and after the game was over. Lots of passion...gotta love it.

Oshie was possessed. After his hose job with Stuart, you could tell he was on a mission.

Why I think this was a good game. Yeah, we lost and got screwed, but LOOK at how the team is reacting. This is the right time for them to come alive like this, like they got something to prove. The team is awake. Absolutely love it.

Stastny DID slash the stick out of his hands so you can't argue that. What you can argue is the ref didn't call it right away which he should have. Even Kerbs said that.

No, you most certainly can argue it because it wasn't a slash.
If that was a slash, then they should call 100 slashing penalties a game.
That was a battle for position where Myers had one hand on his stick and simply didn't have a good grip on it and it came out of his hand. If he holds on to his stick, there is a zero % chance that gets called a slash.
That was an extremely weak call.

The shame of it all is that I thought we played really well. So much so that even as the seconds ticked away, I felt like we were going to tie it and get it to OT. The officiating is just so crappy league-wide, it's no surprise when these things happen, you just have to hope you are not on the wrong side of it. Unfortunately, tonight we were. Pair that with a stinker of a goal that Allen let in (otherwise, he was great), and it ends up in the loss column.

2 games to go. We still control our destiny. Can't ask for more than that.

That wasn't a slash, that was a dive. Yes there was contact, but that was a defenseman who had been beaten and decided to drop his stick and see if that would help.

Total bullshit.

- Stastny's goal taken away because Myers dropped his stick.

- Oshie gets a 4 minute high stick for shouldering Stuart in the chest.

- Backes gets a twig to the face off a faceoff, bleeds, no call. Ref was looking right at the play.

- Schwartz is tripped on Wheeler's breakaway...no call. Luckily Allen kept them alive.

- Did Stuart cover the puck towards the end? You can't do that. Luckily Backes gave him a brutal cross check to the back of the neck to remember him by.

- Kudos to both goalies. They were solid. Kreegz is right about Allen. He has a swagger about him right now.

- Very surprised how they've played w/ 20 and 91 out. The 17/26/74 line has been aces and deserves to stay together.

You missed Lehtera taking a stick to the face with the puck at his feet with another penalty already called which would have put the Blues on a full 2 minute 5-on-3, but neither ref managed to see the player with the puck getting hit square in the face with a stick.

I'm very curious to see if Backes gets something for this...
Eerily similar to what Byfuglien did to get 4 games... Buff's was way, way worse... I don't think it warrants a suspension... Maybe a fine... But I wouldn't be surprised with this just happening..

That was a nothing whack, strictly for positioning...you see it by every player on every shift. And to call a penalty then? And only after he sees that the puck went in the net? It's a joke.
