Too bad there's not some way the Ducks and the Preds can minus points from each other tonight.

Looks like that ended best possible way for us (Anaheim win in regulation), at least for tonight.

I watched most of the 2nd and some 3rd, Ducks just hung in there and then turned the game on its head, "found another gear." Good to see other teams just as capable of 3rd period collapses down the stretch

Anaheim is a beast at times. Think they've got a real shot of making it to the conference finals.

Winnipeg took over the 2nd Wild Card from LA, but LA plays Arizona tonight (Monday) while Winnipeg is idle, so I wouldn't expect it to last.

So I am going to the Preds-Wild game tomorrow in Nashville. Should I wear my Blues or North Stars jersey?

Trick question?
Blues jersey...send a message.
...but the North Stars jersey is a pretty damn cool option.

The Original Jets have to bail out the new Jets and beat LA, hell, at least take a point away from them.

Neither - wear just regular shirt then. I always think it looks goofy when I'm at a game and someone is there with a team jersey that is not even playing that day. The message I believe it sends is the wearer is clueless on which teams are playing that day. I've been to a Hawks vs Detroit game and saw someone wearing a Buffalo jersey a few years ago and was like 'huh?'

I don't think that at all.
I think what most people probably do...the guy is a hockey fan, just not necessarily a fan of the two teams playing.

So in addition to us playing tonight, Nashville (2-8 in their last 10) plays wild card Minnesota (7-3 in their last 10), wild card hopefuls Winnipeg and San Jose square off, and Chicago faces a tough Islanders team.

Good night for matchups, and potential for a lot of playoff positions to change.

That doesn't make me think somebody is clueless either. If I went to a hockey game for teams I'm not a fan of, I might wear my Blues jersey, and I wouldn't be confused when they weren't on the ice.

It doesn't help that Thorton and their GM are having a public feud. I think it's bad blood from last year's blown 3-0 lead over LA. Wilson carries a grudge. Back in 2010 when we knocked out San Jose in round 3 Wilson tried to get revenge by offer sheeting Hjalmarsson from the Hawks. It was thoroughly discusssed on our boards at the time and people that knew the guy said he was one that liked to 'get even'. Thorton was the captain of that team and Wilson was clearly ticked at him for letting his guys lose 4 straight to the Kings last year. Overall it has impacted their overall play.

It doesn't help that:

1. Thornton doesn't shut up and prove his worth on the ice.

2. That Marleau's gas tank is starting to run empty.

3. Niemi isn't getting the respect due to him. Him and Stalock are solid.

4. They don't have a Captain. The Sharks need central leadership to hold accountable and lead the way. That guy should be Pavelski and no one else.

5. That they strip their Captain, then give him an A. Either he is a leader or he's not and if you're punishing him for sucking (I'm sorry, Wilson has every God-Given right to do after the disaster of last year) then don't give him a letter at all. Leadership is earned, not given. Make him earn it, it'll create a better culture in the lockerroom.

6. That Wilson is running his mouth about things that need to stay behind closed doors. You don't better the team but throwing their business out on the street, you make them accountable on the ice and in the lockerroom.

7. Thornton running his mouth is proving why he shouldn't get a letter and should be sent on the first bus out of town stat. He needs to go, point production or not.

8. That the team's D corps as of late has only looked good on paper.

Don't look now, but Chicago looks like they are in line to pass Nashville. 4 pts. down and 3 games in hand.
