Just saw this one posted up on the Twitter. Answers the question of what the injury exactly was--gruesome!
Yeah, holy shit.. actually kind of surprised he's coming back as quickly as he is. DAMN!

Just really depends who Army likes better for next season, Bouwmeester or Michalek. After re-examining our cap situation I would agree even with dumping Jackman I don't think we could keep both AND re-sign Bortuzzo (assuming that's the plan). Unless we shed some cost at forward...

Call me semantic, but at this point I'd rather Jackman finish out his career with the Blues. He's been playing pretty well this year- better positioning and fewer boneheaded clearing attempts. I would call him a slightly better-than-average defenseman, even at age 34.

The big question is his salary- how much will he ask for? I may want to keep him, but I'm not completely opposed to letting him walk if he asks too much.

Jax has been fairly consistant his entire career and he brings stability, even if he was put at the bottom of the D pairings. Unless he got injured or his production dropped through the floor (checks, hits, etc.) I'd let him finish his career in the STL. I like what he brings to the table and he's a hard guy not to respect. Money-wise, his production doesn't scream gimme big money; I'd probably give him what he's being paid now + a half million for a longer term. We got enough small potatoes players as it is, moneywise and the only contract I'd really concern myself with if I was Army would be Tanks.

Tarasenko is the only reason I'd consider letting Jackman go. I like Jackman and think he's playing well. As a 4th defenseman I think he has a lot of value. And, while I'm not sure how to quantify it, his veteran presence adds some value too. But, we've gotta make it work with Tarasenko. I'm not sure that it's "the" place to trim salary, but letting him walk is one place to look.

Just read that Lindbohm was sent down, I guess in preparation for Shattenkirk's return on Saturday. Let's kick this thing into high gear, gentlemen.

Both Shattenkirk and Gunnarson will play on Saturday.
