The pp was sick in the third period. Idk wtf NJ was thinking there, but we had hella time and space to just pick them apart.
That tip in by Backes was insane.
NHL trivia (don't go look it up, bitches!): Among NHL players who have scored at least 1,000 points in their career (there are only 80 players in this group) who has the WORST career +/- and who has the best career +/-?
Best: Gretzky
Worst: Francis
Am I right?

I guessed and got them right. I know I'm on the honor policy there. There are some very interesting names on the list of players who were very close to 1000 points and had very bad +/-. This is shocking.
I think the most surprising is Stevens, who played with Lemieux, Jagr, and Francis during Pittsburgh's two cup runs. (edit: also Joe Mullen, Mark Recchi, Rick Tocchet, and Martin Straka)

Look what you've done to me with this trivia. Insomnia and obsessed with these numbers.
Let me blow your mind, your brain, and your face, too.
Larry Robinson had 958 points. Yeah, pretty good for a defenseman. But did you know... DID YOU KNOW... he also had +730. If you got rid of the power play points, Larry Robinson has 652 points. He was on the ice for a ton of goals where he didn't register a point, and played exceptional defense.
Oh, man...this team is rolling right now. The ending of that game was surreal, really. Cruising and then it felt like everyone just turned off the engine and coasted to the end. Another highlight reel goal from the Tarasenkshow. Got some offense from other sources besides him. 7 straight. Boom.

Maybe the last 3 minutes will be a blessing in disguise. Turn off the gas for 3 minutes and almost blow a 3 goal lead at home. Almost. Now, maybe they'll come out hungrier next game and it will be a learning experience without the loss of points.

This is probably a bad guess, but the first name that jumped to my head is Gordie Howe. I don't know a ton about his career, but a Gordie Howe hat trick includes a fight, so he's my guess.

not_a_wings_fan wrote:So the conditions were the player must have scored at least 1,000 pts in their career. While Robinson leads in overall +/-, he didn't score 1k pts.
Just looked up who it is (I won't ruin it). I never would have come up with that name on my own, but I bet somebody here that is more knowledgeable about hockey will.

1,407 games played, 1020 pts, and an amazing (second all time) 3,565 penalty minutes.
He's not in the HoF, btw, which is amazing.
I guess 1000 points isn't HHOF material.
Well he did try to kill Pierre Turgeon. I know it's not on the same level, but imagine if a surefire HOF'er tried to run golden boy Crosby out of the game. Bettman would pay off everyone he had to to make sure they never made it to the hall.
I imagine being a totally unlikeable player has hurt Hunter in the HOF considerations.
He'll always be the guy who ended Turgeon's playoffs with that cheap shot while Pierre was celebrating in that stupid spotlight they used to put on goal scorer's at Nassau Coliseum. One of the dirtiest moves-maybe the dirtiest-move I've ever seen in real time.

He even admitted he crossed the line on that play, though much later.
Guy was a great NHL player, and how much you like or don't shouldn't change his HoF credentials imo.

I don't see how he could ever deny crossing the line. That was way over the line.
Agreed on second sentence, but when a group of people is deciding who gets in, it's unsurprising that feelings are involved.
