Agreed. The roles of the teams looked reversed. The Blues were forcing mistakes from the Wings and taking advantage of them.

Great PK by the Blues. It's not often you have 6 PK's and out shoot the other team.

Game puck goes to the penalty killers.

Very nice all around. Especially towards the end of the 2nd period, I love love love an aggressive forecheck on the PK with the forwards rotating on the forecheck and the Blues did it beautifully. High pressure all around, they got the puck out high and wide when they had the chance to (most of the time).

I'll admit though my heart about went to my throat when I saw Datsyuk almost chip it by us on the 5 on 3

Something I've noticed since the coaching change is that they are passing the puck much better. And, part of that seems to be long outlet passes from their own zone in transition. I don't know if I was just oblivious to it before now, but it seems to be creating more chances than they used to.

I was at the game... Good win. Blues just looked like they wanted the puck more, young guys especially.

I saw some fans getting into it outside the stadium, again... Oh well, that's Detroit I guess. Glad I avoided it this time.

I think this was a HUGE win.

Not only did we defeat the Wings, but we overcame some horrible officiating as well as a sluggish first period.

Big game for the boys.

Oh....and Jacks played well last night (may want to HOF that because I don't expect to ever type that again)

Not only did we own the game and really take it to the Wings all game long, but we had to overcome horrible reffing as well.

I can't remember the last time I saw so many one-sided calls or non-calls against one team in one game.

With 5 minutes to go in the game, the Red Wings had something like 15 minutes in power play time...and the Blues had 12 seconds. And you can't say the Blues just took more penalties, the refs missed two or three blatantly obvious penalties on Detroit in the 3rd period alone, plus called a horrible icing call on the Blues late in the game when the puck went over Lidstrom's stick...and seemingly every ticky-tack hold or hook was being called against the Blues. That was insane.

I always make fun of people who accuse the refs of being biased or trying to give an advantage to one team...but damn...I know that wasn't the case here (well, I hope), but it's hard to argue against that in last night's game. Horrible call after horrible call and horrible non-call after horrible non-call, bad icing calls, etc...all going Detroit's way, every...single...one... until 4 minutes to go...and they they call a horrible penalty on Detroit.

One of the worst reffed games I have seen in a long, long time....and we still won in regulation.

Good game by Elliot, Polak, Shat, Steen, Dags and even Jackman. I also like Hitchcock's ability to make adjustments at the period break, he really seemed to get the team in the right direction between the 1st and 2nd period.

Kerber said the call that went against Arnott for interference in the 3rd period "getting Winged." Apparently, Mellanby invented the phrase. Getting Winged is a Wings player falling down near any puck battle and getting a penalty call. After that, any time a Blues player checked a Wings player, the Wings player would fall down. Kerber would say - he falls down, no penalty call.

Kerber and Chase were livid since Abdelcator (sic) was trying to play the puck in front of the goal, Arnott starts battling him for it, DeadWing falls down and an interference call happens. The comment was "players aren't supposed to battle for pucks in front of the net? They are just supposed to let the other guy stand there and play it?"

Interestingly, at that point in the game, only one referee had called the penalties and Chase pipes up, referring to the other ref, "They are going to have to charge Lagos $10 for public skating after this one."
