Let's do this! Hopefully the Note will build off the momentum of the win over the Hawks last night and keep it rolling tonight.

I'm pumped for this game.

I splurged and picked up some nice tickets for this one. If he is not tired, I hope Halak plays this one too. I bought tickets a little bit right of center ice (102) to really watch that particular battle.

Working all day so I can watch this in peace.

This team has been really (Franking) exciting to watch so far, even when they lose and make me angry. Just so much energy and cohesion on the ice. Growing up nicely.

Great two games. Way to tell all of those Chicago/Pittsburgh band-wagoners to shove it.

Great win! The Blues were flying all over the ice all game. They remind me of Les Habitants of the '50s (Flying Frenchmen). Non-stop end-to-end action. The Blues did everything well (except finish on a few good chances). They fought tenaciously on the boards, got back well on defence, made great rushes, made great tape-to-tape no-look outlet passes. Payne really prepared them, and had them playing at sky-high level. Crosby and Malkin had no room to make plays all game.

A stellar performance (best of this season). If they can play like this all season, they'll be in the West's top 4. Not to mention the excellent goaltending.

Pietrangelo led the team in TOI at over 23 minutes, with an even amount of PP and PK time. Looks like Payne is beginning to trust him in the tough situations, and reward him for excellent play. He's actually been The Blues best all-around defenceman the last 2 games.

Everyone was hitting and had their heads in the game. I can't remember The Blues playing any better at the fundamentals. Looks like Payne is a very capable NHL coach. An up-and-coming young coach with a young talented team on the rise is a good combination.

Oshie and Perron were carrying the play all over the ice. Berglund, Boyes, Backes and McDonald also looked good. Jackman and Brewer played well. Colaiacovo had his best game so far.
I hope Polak's cut was minor.

Everything came together. They should have won 4-2 in regulation, but for great goaltending by Halak and pretty decent tending by Johnson, and some bad luck for The Blues. But 2 points is 2 points, and Pittsburgh is in The East-so no harm done.

This is going to be a fun season.

Well, I was right about ONE thing - was on the edge of my seat all game. God damn, what a game.

EJ is a beast.

Boyes needs to start (Franking) finishing those chances. I do like that he has been doing his part on defense.

Crosby and Malkin were both on the ice for the whole OT period, and neither of them was willing to come down low and challenge the Blues as they worked on the cycle. Watch the replay, Erik Johnson knew that and kept turning back toward the corner rather than the point, and at one point he even gave a little head fake. Awesome awareness by EJ of their utter lack of defensive willingness, and he got rewarded with it by the goal. Oshie and Backes deserve big ups for their work on the cycle, and (dare I say) Eric Brewer too for starting the whole shebang off by carrying the puck down low in the first place.

Great game, great team, and I LOVED Davis Payne's reaction. :goblues: :cup:

Backes looks a little lethargic out there.. hopefully it's just his pathological slow start.
