Re: Rivermen 2009-10 schedule
The rumors continue to circulate in Peoria. This may be the last schedule we see for Peoria. The Rivermen are in the last year of their lease agreement with the Peoria Civic Center. I do not see AHL hockey in Peoria after this season. I continue to hear the rumors of 1. St. Charles MO 2. Kansas City MO 3. Oklahoma City OK. The Rivermen front office knows about these rumors too and have not been able to confirm or deny. In the end, it will be the Peoria Civic Center that runs the team out of town. Broken promises to the team, poor services, lack of staffing during games, small percentages on concession revenue and overall lack of caring will have either of the 3 cities above drooling to have a AHL team in their town.
I just hope these are only rumors. Quad Cities went through it last year. Then at the end of the season the rumors were confirmed. The Calgary Flames will move their AHL affiliate. It smells the same way here in Peoria.
Until it happens though...I will enjoy watching the prospects.

Re: Rivermen 2009-10 schedule
I'm pretty sure Edmonton will be reactivating their dormant franchise in Oklahoma City next season, so you can probably cross that off the list for a new home for the Rivermen.
And I'd be kind of shocked if any AHL team moves into KC...they're looking toward an NHL franchise and I can't see a minor league team doing well there.

The January 16th game at Noon is a typo, it has been corrected to 7PM on the Rivermen website.

Excellent; I have to stay in Peoria with naught to do the night of October 14.

The rumors continue. Can anyone put someone on the spot or ask the questions at camp. Even PT staff for the Rivermen think they are leaving after this season. St. Charles continues to be the destination for us here in Peoria. This isn't being circulated by one fan. To many people with connections continue to speculate that this is the last year for AHL hockey in Peoria. The city will put the spin on the Blues. But the bottom line problem is the Peoria Civic Center. Congrats to Peoria for running the team out. I hope this time next year someone can call me out on this....but I feel they are gone....Can anyone shed some light on this rumor.
