The first-ever Peoria Rivermen jersey design contest received over 1,400 votes during a three-week period and a design submitted by Ryan Malaschak has been crowned the winner. With 40 percent of the total votes, Malaschak’s intricate anchor logo edged out the three other finalists.
The jerseys will be worn by the Rivermen in their game on Dec. 15 at Carver Arena against the Milwaukee Admirals. The jerseys will be auctioned off to the public following the game.
“I would like to say thank you to the Peoria Rivermen staff for creating such a unique opportunity,” said Malaschak. “Being a graphic artist and a passionate hockey fan my entire life, it has been a dream of mine to create a game-worn jersey at a professional level.”
A diehard St. Louis Blues fan, the 32-year-old graphic designer is the owner of Adrenaline Prints Screen Printing in Belleville, Ill. More information about Adrenaline Prints is available on their Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/adrenalineprints).
The contest began on July 1 and received over 100 submissions from all over the world. The field was narrowed to four finalists on Aug. 1 and a fan vote was conducted through the team’s web site to determine the winner.
If Peoria is wearing Milwaukee jerseys, what will Milwaukee wear?
