At this time Shattenkirk is a defenseman, that is not all that great at actual defense. I think with EJ's size gone, Polak's long term employment in St. Louis looks good.

If he makes the Team Canada World Jrs team (he was the only non-major Canadian junior A player in camp), I imagine there will be a buzz about him after the tournament.
